Bought this product in a larger treat size for a similar price per unit after coupon. Pure freeze-dried beef lung is still by far my boy's favorite treat but he enjoys this one quite a bit. No gastrointestinal or allergic (itching, etc) issues after eatng a whole bag and he has not tired of the taste. This is a good treat size for my 40 pound dog wheras the larger size was just a little too big. You can also see the product is scored down the middle for portion control. This is a new product and the expiration date wasn't an issue on my bag.

That pure freeze died beef lung you speak of. Where do you buy them? Is pure the brand? I want some treats because we are attempting to train our Great Dane

Another option is https://www.amazon.com/Redbarn-Ch...Ounce Bag). These are also really good but they are huge pieces that aren't great for training. They're on the higher side of their price history so if you wait a week or two they'll drop a few bucks.
Most trainers would actually recommend freeze dried liver liver. I use and have had no problems PureBites[amazon.com]. Another popular option is https://www.amazon.com/Stewart-Fr...A]Stewarts If your dog has allergies these are also made with other proteins (lamb, pork, etc).
I've purchased this 12 times , it's currently $2.59 before subscribe and save Keep in mind freeze-dried foods are very lightweight so it's not comparable in size to non-freeze dried treats.

Definitely this. The freeze dried liver is super easy to break into pieces whereas the lung not so much. Purebites is sliced thinner and more consistently into thin rectangles whereas Stewarts are more like cubes that are harder to break without crumbling.

The beef lung came up with a 40% coupon for me (s&s) - $1.51.... Thanks!
