Don't deduct a gc price. A $50 gc isn't $50

I love hue but all the add-ons beyond the bulbs are just so expensive and even those are expensive. I think Hue would be so much more popular if it was priced a little more towards the average person.

I got most of my gen 3 color bulbs for about $20 each and even at that price it was a rough purchase lol. I had to convince myself they were an investment because they rated for 20 years lololol.

In hindsight i really dont use the colors,i should have gotten some nice dimming led bulbs and purchased smart switches for all my rooms. It would have been significantly cheaper.

Most of the spaces in which I've placed the bulbs don't have light switches, so I went with the Hue 'tune-able' white bulbs and their wireless wall switches, since so few companies seem to make them...

Yeah, Its great for those instances. I have a garage with 3 light switches on 3 different walls for some reason to turn on 3 groups of 2 lights so its helpful to have a Hue set up for those lights to be grouped as one to just say "alexa garage lights on" lol. Other than that everything else is just single rooms.

Has this box ever been on a proper sale? It seems like it's always over $200. I guess the $50 GC is better than nothing.

Repost https://slickdeals.net/f/13814804-philips-hue-play-hdmi-sync-box-black-229-50-bestbuy-gc-free-shipping but maybe this time it'll fare better

Anyone know if these are still $199 in-store?

Edit: Save $30 by adding the Play Light Bar Kit [bestbuy.com] ($100, normally $130) and/or White/Color Dimmer Kit [bestbuy.com] ($100, normally $130) to cart

Not really a deal as the 50 dollar gift card cannot be applied to the Hue Sync. Waiting for an actual price drop on the unit.
You could just sell the gc for $40-45

No. $229 @ my store in GA. I bought one back when they were $199 with the $50 gift card from the play bar starter kit back in December. Best deal I've come across so far. Still haven't fixed the light sync glitches with passthrough. To be honest, it's still worth it.
