Some people didn't like this game but I liked it once you get into it and the style and characters. Remember that the FF series goes in lots of different directions -- this was one of them.. not saying that's good or bad.

I believe this deal is just for the base game (original disc version) and you might want to look for the "Royal Edition" which came out last year, which includes all the DLC and other features. You can also buy the Royal Edition upgrade as a digital upgrade. Look for sales on PSN or XBox Marketplace. But in any case for $5 this would get you going and you can decide if you like it.

Also beware there's a totally scaled-down version called "Pocket edition" which was originally a mobile game. It's not at all the same thing game-wise but based on same plot and characters.

I think it's a good price for 4.99, but too bad it's only for XB1. I feel like they could've done better with the main story, but they had a huge amount of side quests so that somewhat makes up for it. I really like the interaction between the four friends though. It was pretty enjoyable

Might be better off finding a deal on the royal edition there's a lot of separate dlc to buy. I wasn't crazy about this one, felt like they had to start over several times and then scrapped it together at the end due to deadlines. Had a large open world but it feels so empty and disconnected
