Other: Ethernet port, audio combo jack, SD card reader

Construction: Magnesium aluminum
Battery: 47 Wh, ~7.5 hr battery life, 65W charger
OS: Windows 10 Home 64 bit (not S)
Weight: 2.55 lbs
Warranty: 1 year limited
Selling points:
-1920 x 1080 IPS screen
-Extremely light weight for size, with competitors (eg LG Gram) being much more expensive
-Compact/narrow bezels - 14" screen on laptop that is the size of a 13"
-Quiet
-Metal construction (Aluminum magnesium alloy)
-Backlit keyboard (some people do report the silver model the backlit is not bright enough due to the silver background of the key. with the black model having the best backlit/key background color combination)
-pretty good trackpad (large size)
-Ethernet port, full size HDMI with 4k
-Windows 10 Home (don't need to convert from S mode, has zero bloatware so no need to reformat)
-Front IR camera supporting Windows Hello (login to Windows using facial recognition)
-Very low price for all of above
-Runs Ubuntu Linux [reddit.com] perfectly (no driver installs, command line edits, etc)
Detractions:
-1 slot of RAM - so no dual channel, resulting in ~25% graphics performance hit
-Comes with 4GB RAM. While sufficient/fast for most people (despite what forums will have you believe), power users may benefit from 8GB, an easy and cheap upgrade
-Not from a well known brand (it was put out by a partnership between Walmart and THX)
-Screen could be brighter outdoors (240 nits)
-USB-C does not support charging or video output
-Wifi is 1x1 (can be easily upgrade to AX200 2x2 wifi 6 for about $18, some people do it to get the fastest possible Wifi 6 speed as well as reportedly better range and less signal drops)
-No 2.5" slot
-Trackpad a bit fidgety for precise movements
-Speakers are what you would expect for this class of laptop
8GB RAM for $30 (replaces the 4GB, so total after upgrade is 8GB not 12GB)

I will save you all the hassle, it does NOT have a second slot for RAM. RAM is single channel/slot only.

There is almost no difference in performance between single channel and dual channel performance outside of max load server applications, and this has been proven time and time again. Unless you can perceive a difference in performance down the NANOSECOND, you will see literally no difference between the two, unless you're running some synthetic benchmark and seeing 50 vs 53 nanoseconds in read rate.
I'm not sure what you mean by a "power user" because that term has been used quite loosely vs when it was coined decades ago. I am by all measures a "power user" and I assure you that if you're using this computer for compiling millions of lines of code, encoding or decoding media content, running a virtual network in VMware workstation or attempting to play any AAA game titles from the past several years then you are doing it wrong.
It's a $200 laptop that's meant to appeal to the large majority of people who just use their systems for browsing the web, doing general office work, or watching videos. It is perfectly suited for exactly that and will not benefit any appreciable amount from the added expense of 8GB vs 4GB, and not at all in dual channel mode vs single channel mode.

That not withstanding, having a second RAM module allows the CPU to access the RAM in dual channel mode, increasing performance even at lower RAM consumption workloads.
* Power users would benefit from even more than 8, especially for a bit of future proofing.
Your politics are powerless here.

I think that boat has already set sail a long time ago and probably not returning...

I LOVE the build quality, aluminum chassis and sturdy hinge design. The screen is plenty bright and very crisp to look at, was surprised at how great the overall picture was. The bezel around the screen is thin which gives it a premium look. After about the first 15 minutes of use the laptop settled down in fan noise/load. There is very little to no noticeable lag, when switching tabs/loading programs/videos/web surfing. If anything loading times are probably attributed to my garbage DSL ISP. I did not upgrade the 4gb ram or stock ssd or wifi card. Its doing perfectly fine. No wifi dropouts. This is only an assumption but i think this laptop would run fine loading office software for someone like a student, although then they would problably also benefit from ram and storage upgrade. I installed chrome and its doing perfectly fine even with all my plugins. I know its probably bad but i keep my laptop on my chest in bed. Its warm but not hot and the fan spins on "low" very seldomly only when i try to multitask other programs with 5 tabs already open. It is not at all loud or anything to complain about, otherwise the fan is damn near silent/off when just web browsing. The touchpad tracks well and is very responsive even with the protective sticker on top. If you press to click the click on the touchpad is a teeny bit on the loud side. The speaker sound is a little bit mediocre since my previous laptop had a woofer. This is like new flat screen tvs where the volume level doesnt really change intensity when you go above 50%. Just trying to be as real with you guys as i can be.
If i had to complain about anything it would be that my screen has a bit of backlight bleed in the top left of the screen, seen here: https://imgur.com/gallery/L4uvSnt. Its also on the top right but top left is more prominent. It is totally not noticeable when the computer is in use, only becomes an issue when viewing an image that is all black in fullscreen. Im guessing quality is going to vary so im just going to go ahead and keep this.
I would still recommend this laptop to anyone that is hesitant about purchasing it. I dont think this laptop is worth the $600 MSRP but i think it beats some $300 some odd dollar chromebooks and PCs. I would persuade people who want a laptop with better specs/overall quality for the same price to curb their expectations.
