Just got this email from Verizon:

Exciting changes ahead.
Starting March 1, you can grab your favorite reward without needing a credit. More information on program changes is coming soon.
In the meantime, be sure to use your existing credits before they expire. Credits expire 30 days from issue date or 2.29.20 — whichever comes first.

When you enroll in Verizon Up, you also enroll in Verizon Selects.

And what does Verizon Selects do?

Verizon Selects collects data to better serve you advertising.

Here is what Verizon Selects collects:

- Information about your wireless device and how you use it – including web addresses of sites you visit, similar information about apps and features you use, as well as device and advertising identifiers.

- Information about your device location, including network data and location information transmitted by apps you permit to use your device location.

- Your postal and email addresses.

- Information about the quantity, type, destination, location, and amount of use of your Verizon telecommunications and interconnected voice over internet services and related billing information (also known as Customer Proprietary Network Information or CPNI).

- Information about your Verizon products and services and how you use them (such as data and calling features and use, Fios service options, equipment and device types).

- Information we get from other companies (such as gender, age range, interests, shopping preferences, and ad responses) or that you provide.

- Information advertisers share with us to better target their own advertising.`

At first for me I used to be able to get $8 Amazon gift cards. Then it went to $5 and roughly this time last year $3. Then I would say about 4 or 5 months ago I haven't seen the option to get amazon gift card at all. I'm sure the change will help them retain more money. I will be honest I was very surprised when they started this whole rewards deal.

I'm not surprised with the Amazon change but their device dollar credit changed from $10 to $5.

Weird. Mine remains at 10. Have 1 credit left to use. Other reward options are the same still too. Some targeted/regional devaluation?

People still use Verizon??? Most expensive carrier and the networks are all close to equal now besides Sprint....Why????
Yeah except they're not anywhere close to equal. I travel the country, and use each carrier almost daily. Verizon by far has the best coverage. AT&T is second and is actually better in some rural areas. T-Mobile has gotten better, but still isn't close. Sprint is just crap except where it's good, then it's really good.

Perhaps because in some areas the carriers are NOT equal? There are plenty of people that live in more rural areas where only Verizon and/or AT&T are the sole carrier with good coverage.

For 30 per month in 5 lines unlimited plan. Its very good price for the coverage.

Welcoming this change. Many times i receive a notification on my phone that a new credit is ready and waiting to be used, only to find out that after I enter my Verizon password there is actually no credit available.

I travel a lot and there are only two options that actually work for me, AT&T and Verizon. AT&T has already screwed me enough for a lifetime, so I use Verizon now and I'm happy with it.
