Costco has the love-it-or-hate-it Vizio SB36512-F6 Soundbar for $289.99 after $160 off. This is $10 cheaper than the current Bestbuy offer.

From what I can tell from reading comments in the many previous deals on this, the Vizio Atmos soundbar systems hold the promise of good sound+feature quality for the buck and that promise is frequently destroyed by a never-ending series of firmware bugs and even pulled firmware "updates". So buyer beware, read those prior threads, know what you're getting into, etc. But hey, at least in this instance it's on sale at Costco so any potential returns should be smooth.

Price is valid through 2/24/20 or while supplies last.

New atmos sound bar coming out this year. I would wait unless you need it now.

Pretty sure new electronics come out all the time 😂 and they are going to be expensive. This is one of the best atoms sound bars for the price and I own one.

I wanted to love this sound bar, got it from Costco previously and suffered through the random shutoffs, HDMI handshake issues and freezing issues. Was trying to figure out alternates and then the black Friday price mistake on the Beam happened and now I have the Beam and two Play 1s (all from Costco) and love it. TV sound is great and music is fantastic. If Vizio would have just fixed the issues with firmware I would prob still have it.

Couldn't agree with you more. I bought one from BestBuy during BF and it was a terrible experience. Couldn't get the SB connected through Bluetooth or their app. HDMI connection would drop randomly and it was frustrating. Every time I turn on the TV, I had to power off and on the SB to get it detected. I reached out to customer care and they weren't helpful. They suggested some instructions for resetting or connecting through alternative routes which in my case wasn't successful. After a month, I decided to fight with Vizio to either get a complete refund or get a replacement. I explained my issues with the SB the third time for an hour and convinced them to send a replacement. I do not have any issues to date but tbh this soundbar is either a hit or a miss. If you are going to experience problems with it, it is only during the initial set up but not after. So, you can decide if you want to return or get a replacement under warranty. The only thing is patience.

To conclude, was it a good experience? Definitely, no for the buying experience.
Was the SB worth it? Every penny despite the frustration you get in setting up this item!

I love this soundbar. Had some issues with the first time set-up, but no real problems since.
Atmos doesn't even work properly with my ceilings, but going from a generic soundbar (no sub or read speakers) to this has been a game changer.

Same experience for me...lots of glitches...sound was good "when" it worked right but not worth the problems. Wanted to like it but returned it after a few weeks. Maybe their next one will be better if they can work out the quality issues.

Costco sold the Sonos Beam for 179 for a few hours on either thanksgivings morning or black Friday morning. It seemed like the accidentally combined the beam and playbar discount at checkout.

I bought one of these when it was $299. For a budget atmos experience, this is a pretty good value in my opinion with the latest firmware (I have 11 feet ceilings). You just need a lot of patience setting it up and may have to reboot once in a while to refresh the connection.

If you want one now and are willing troubleshoot a little to get atmos, go for it (especially with the 90 day costco return policy). If you are willing to wait you can get the refresh (all black) with DTS-X support with their 2020 soundbars.

For those without a Costco Membership, Best Buy has it for $299.99. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/vizi...Id=6288824

It's worth noting for anyone reading, Costco most definitely does *not* consider Soundbars to be "electronics". Soundbars are not limited to 90-day return windows.

Exactly - it should be lifetime return eligible. From their website return policy [costco.com]page, soundbars do not fall into any of the 90 day Electronics categories:

Quote :
On Merchandise: We guarantee your satisfaction on every product we sell, and will refund your purchase price*, with the following exceptions:

Electronics: Costco will accept returns within 90 days (from the date the member received the merchandise) for Televisions, Tuner-Free Displays, Projectors, Major Appliances (refrigerators above 10 cu. ft., freezers, ranges, cooktops, over-the-range microwaves, dishwashers, washers and dryers), Computers, Touchscreen Tablets, Smart Watches, Cameras, Aerial Cameras (drones), Camcorders, MP3 players and Cellular Phones (return details will vary by carrier service contract).
