the reviews show that even with the use of stabil, the carb gets messed up when it goes into storage until the next winter.
to me, that screams bad carb design. perhaps the carb jets are smaller than in the past.
i have an older craftsman snowblower and it's a beast

Both are at amazing going out of business prices. If you wan't to see more extensive reviews on these, check out the Troy-bilt reviews at Home Depot. The units may have different options but are basically the same technology from the same factory. They all come from MTD and they make excellent Snow Throwers. (I don't know about that first one posted by the OP, it does not look like MTD to me but I could be wrong.)

Example of a review of a model that is very similar to the first one I posted.

First time buying a snowblower... any difference between this one and the 88990 other than colour and delivery? Anyone have any reviews on this one?
Edit:if you call about expired points they'll give you $10 but when I tried checking out with those it gave me a "Place Order Failed" error so I gave up.

Yes, I have zero problem after I put Stabil in gasoline in every refill. I haven't needed to clear clog in the bowl net inside the carburator any more. Not even once. A 64oz sold by Walmart goes for $8.88, which will last for several years.
