Q80 is not bad, but it is no q90, so nowhere near OLED. I would prefer the sony x950g over the samsung q80.....q90 tops it, and is closest you can get to OLED, but it is almost as much as an OLED
I just received a counter offer on Greentoe for the same amount. Pretty good price, especially with tax included.
I'm thinking about waiting until reviews come out for the Q80T, which is currently listed at $1520 through Samsung epp
Same here. My expectation with the Q80T is the reflection would be the same as the Q80R.
Nice price though on the Q80R with no tax for me. I've been watching the Q80R for a month now and this is the first time the price has gone below $1550 from an authorized seller.

2019 Q80R (has 96 Local dimming zones) > 2020 Q80T (has 48 Local dimming zones)

Nah most reviews including rtings have the q90 close to q80 and q80 overall ahead of x950g, the one thing u did get right though is that it's not near oled, but nothing is

Sorry. But you are totally wrong. The Q80 is extremely close to the Q90.
I have it and it's definitely worth it. And trust me I went through a lot of back and forths.
Difference between q60 q70 q80 next to each other is not significant to justify they price difference (go to the nearest best buy). Difference between q90 and the rest of Qs is significant. Still Q90 is below an an OLED. OLED doesn't offer any 80" and up (there is one LG 88" for $26000 tho)

Samsung dropping the ball on HDMI 2.1 and eArc on 2020 TV's. Shocking.
Q80T is the 2020 version of Q70R hence the lower dimming zones.
