The ONLY advantage of a digital copy is CONVENIENCE. That's it. A physical copy has better video and audio, not reliant on internet speed, guaranteed that you have ownership of the movie (even when the streaming company folds or they decide to not give you the rights to access the movie).

If you travel but still want options to watch your collection. But at home I prefer physical.

The streaming company may not fold but your "rights" to the movie you've bought may get revoked (change of license terms). Although like the apocalypse, most people won't believe it until it actually happens.

I'd say convenience and access (when travelling). Definitely agree with you regarding the quality of video and audio, though.

Quality.. maybe. But the streaming company folding? C'mon. I'm betting on me losing/stepping on a physical disc long before amazon/walmart folds

For me at least my son is Autistic and he is now 25. It started with him taking a backpack full of DVD's and as he got older it became 3 backpacks and then a suitcase with a portable DVD Player with a screen. Then I would rip every movie he watched and put it on our Plex server which he could watch on his phone or tablet. Now with Movies Anywhere he can go to anyone's house in the family and be set with just the install of a simple app that any family member can install and understand. He can go on vacation and never miss a beat picking up right where he left off.
