The pricing is usually not great, only a little off of the sale price for a new item. But some of these laptops on sale are still about $950 and here you can snatch one up for $300 which to me even if its got a dinged corner or a scuffed trackpad, thats still a heck of a deal considering you get 100 days full warranty for functionality.

The E7470 is the sweet spot for refurbished now that it's a few years old and starting to go off-lease. It's dell's high end machine, sturdy, efficient, easy to service, gets the job done quite well. It's the model I've begun to buy on eBay to fix up and resell to folks at the college where I work.

Only tip I'd give is to make sure to get the FHD or Touch-screen (QHD) versions. The HD version is a low-end TN panel. Most of the time these came with m.2 SATA SSDs, but the slot can accept an NVME if you want even faster performance.

Am I crazy or is the i5-6200u in this thing basically going to perform like a 3200u but with crippling integrated graphics? You can find laptops all day long with a 3200u for around this price point brand new

I had one previously and the fan just would not stop going off constantly even when I was just browsing or idle. Updated all drivers, etc. Still an issue after all the updates.

Had this same issue on some Latitudes, too. Found that repasting the CPU heatsink would fix it.

Maybe I'm just piling on here, but the batteries with these have a high rate of swelling than other Latitudes I've worked with. In my opinion, $260 isn't a bad deal, but these laptops come with a couple of engineering/hardware considerations to keep in mind before buying.

$280 at the cheapest for old i5 processors and other older tech in refurbished machines... Frequent new deals for i5s and ryzen 5 series with 8gb and 1080p touchscreens for $300-350 now. Don't waster your time here.
