HP.com [hp.com] has HP 17z 17.3" Touchscreen Laptop (Jet Black) on sale for $409. Shipping is free.

NOTE: It says that it ships in March - don't know how accurate that is.

Specs:
AMD Ryzen 5 3500U 2.1 GHz Quad-Core Processor
17.3" 1600x900 WLED Touchscreen Display
12GB 2400MHz DDR4 Memory
256GB PCIe NVMe M.2 Solid State Drive
Radeon Vega 8 Graphics
802.11ac WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2
Windows 10 Home
Ports:
2x USB 3.1 Gen 1
1x USB 2.0
1x Gigabit Ethernet
1x HDMI 1.4b
1x Audio Combo Jack
3-cell 41 Wh Lithium-Ion Battery

I would recommend paying the extra $10 for WiFi card upgrade (2x2 instead of 1x1).
This is bulky as a 17" laptop.
This is not 1080p.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

My 17.3 touchscreen HP is amazing. There's one rep for HP you weren't aware of.

Does hp really expect people to crate an account before seeing what's available in their web store?

I wouldn't take anything less than a 1080p screen on a 17" laptop.

How is this even a deal? I guess better question - how is this even in the market?

NOT 1080p (1600x900 really? Phones have better resolution now a days)
17.3" - too big for a laptop
And the price
on top of it all, it is HP!!!!

HP will soon be Xerox, but this is likely not on most people's short list for a new laptop.

It's probably meant as a desktop replacement and has a current gen CPU/GPU, which still leaves you wondering... why not 1080p?

They're probably trying to clear out their old 900p touchscreen stock. It's crazy how rapid the standard screen resolution changes. Soon 1080 IPS touchscreen will be considered outdated and 1440p IPS touchscreen is what people want in in March 2020.

I hope you're right about that. It's about time we moved on.

There is always some overpriced junk out there. I have seen better specs at this price. These days the quality is low and price higher. Garbage in garbage out.
