What are your thoughts on stores having beverage bars? They would serve beer, wine, tea, and coffee to consumers to improve the shopping experience.

And they could follow you around the store and serve
hors d'oeuvres.

If it is a retail store, no. Things could easily be spilled and damage merchandise. One reason why you often see "no food or drink" signs up on the merchants doors.

It really depends on the store. I could see something like this at a more upscale store. But I am not so sure about something like this in the middle of Walmart. My local Dillons store has a Starbucks inside and you can get your drink and continue to shop, which is actually really nice. I suppose it just depends on the stores that you are trying to introduce these into and what selections would work best for that location.

My Target gives out samples and has a Starbucks inside. Little sample cups and Starbucks trash discarded anywhere and everywhere. When dealing with public you have to account for pigs!!!

Stores should give free booze at the door. I would spend more money and stimulate the economy.

One of my local Targets got rid of the old Hill's/Ames styled snack bar and put in a Starbucks right up by the front doors, even though there's already one in the same farking plaza less than a quarter mile from the store.

I never really bought anything from the old style snack bar either and think Starbucks is over priced for what it is so no big loss to me. But if it'll bring in the hipster types who will likely start whining about how "outdated" Target is sooner than later like they used to about Kmart and Sears then more power to them.

It just depends on the level of your shopping experience. Nordstroms here has a full bar complete with snacks. Many of the high end stores that still sell furs offer you free champagne and chocolates while you watch the furs being modeled but you have to be a certain level of customer to get that treatment.
