Not worth it IMO.

They are absolutely terrible in terms of build quality. DO NOT get them. It doesn't matter if it has a core i9 or a gtx 1660 they SUCK unless if ytou plan to plug it in and never use it on the go. I made sure to return my dell 3000
Horrible keyboard flex. Heavy. Terrible terrible screen (washed out, poor viewing angles) etc.
I'm sure if I were to have kept it for a few years the keyboard would stop working or the hinges would break just like what happened to the 7000 and 5000 series inspirons that I've purchased.
As far as build quality goes:
Low: 3000 all plastic
Medium: 5000 maybe some aluminum
High: 7000 mostly aluminum

Latitudes are tiered similarly with build quality better across the board, more Enterprise management focused features, and generally more replaceable parts. However I haven't found the lat 3000s built much better than an Inspiron 3000.

I confirmed with Dell rep that the new 17" 3000 series has a 300 nit/100% srgb IPS full HD screen. When you see WVA on Dell they mean matte IPS. The TN screen is 1600x900 res and does not come in full HD. Currently the TN screen isn't an option. If this is true this is a super slick deal. I got the i5 with 512gb SSD for $584 after 10% off email sign up, plus 2% cab
