Doesn't look like the legs invert and 4' max height without center column. Those are big deals to me.

Budget? I bought an inexpensive Oben CT-3535 for travel (I'm not a pro). $150. Easily fits in carry on bag, 12" folded, 2.5 lbs, holds a mirrorless with no issues.

With tripods you mostly get what you pay for. This is a series 1 tripod so it is flimsy by definition. But at least it is not Uber cheap flimsy like some of the 3rd tier junk out there.

Yep, but for my use it was just what I needed. Does it compare to a $800 tripod? No. But for a hobbyist using it occasionally it's a nice, lightweight travel tripod.

This or Peak Design's tripod? Mine is slowly breaking (have a cheap one from Amazon) and have been wanting a new one.

The first sentence is a generality, but the rest is misinformed. When comparing tripods, they must be compared within their own size/weight class. The different "series" of tripods are based on the naming convention largely established by Gitzo. Series 1 primarily consists of models designed for travel, therefore need to be light and compact. They are smaller and thinner by design than their larger counterparts, but can have the same attention to quality and detail.

The Induro brand is very high quality and competes directly with Gitzo at a lower price point. The parent company also manufactures the Benro and Mefoto brands. Calling Series 1 tripods flimsy is misinformed because it ignores their inherent purpose. It would be like calling a sports car flimsy because it is not as big as an SUV or truck.

I own several Gitzos and several Induros, including the previous model to this one. The Induros are excellent for their quality and price if you are seeking professional level support for your cameras.

Sirui (T-1204SK or T-2204SK) and Mefoto (Carbon Backpacker or Carbon Roadtrip). Gitzo also has one at a much higher price.

can you wait? then I'd definitely wait for the peak design tripod to get released and a bunch of real reviews done. All the early reviews look like instagram bot generated junk.

Otherwise look at sirui, or gitzo or even feisol.
I say go with used legs, and a really nice ballhead.

This Induro has a traditional design compared to Peak Design's innovative design. The Peak Design is a full size tripod in a compact form with a built-in head. It collapses for travel, but has more sections and uses flip locks, meaning takes longer to set up. It erects to a larger height and footprint, but is somewhat bulkier overall. I consider the Induro dedicated for compact travel, therefore the maximum height is not as tall. It sets up quickly with only 4 leg sections, important if your are always on the go. You must factor the size and weight of adding a head, but that allows you to choose one specifically to your preference. The carbon Peak Design will still cost at least $150 more by comparison.

Personally, I use other Peak Design products and love their innovation. However, having knowledge of both dedicated travel and full-size tripods, I don't care for the Peak Design tripod. The flip locks are slow and annoying and the head is simply not as precise as many ball heads. If you like the cool factor and can only afford one tripod, it may still be a good choice.
