Holding out for Blu-ray release in U.S. Hope it happens soon!
Is there reason to believe it will happen or is it just hope?
I used to watch Columbo when I was very young and remember it being OK. The reality is I'd probably never watch it if I bought it simply due to too many other (newer) things to watch, but it would be nice to have just in case the mood strikes me.
$29 is a good price for so many DVDs, and it must surely be a spindle pack at that price. However, if it's going to come out on Bluray I might as well wait. I'm in no hurry to watch it now, and while DVD is watchable, Bluray is so much better. I've been "tricked" (suckered) too many times into buying a DVD set on the assumption a Bluray set will never happen, and then it does.
Simply, my favorite show ever. For 10 years the wife and I go to sleep with a Columbo episode playing in the background using the various streaming services. We have never kept track, but it's always a treat when an episode starts playing that we have never seen (or had too many cocktails to remember it). Some of them I have watched over a 100 times and can talk along with the script ("Now You See Him" episode especially, my favorite). It was on Netflix for years, but for some reason was missing a number of episodes. I'm in......
Bought a different version of the dvd set and it's awesome, I mkv'd it and now it's on my Plex, I've bought 3 Blu-ray's of Columbo also, season one and two and the episode where Columbo is at a military school. Great quality.

Monk is also the same price. I do know that currently Monk is on Prime video, but a great price for another great detective series.

Both shows are free on streaming services in the USA.
