Stocking up for Corona virus

Hey guys,
Is anyone stocking up on "survival items" in fear of the Corona virus? So far I haven't, but I see a lot of the supermarkets empty from people like that here. Are the fears warranted, should I do the same?

Have you tried The Podium? Shitloads over there....
Really hard to find now.
Took 5 days of hunting simply to get tp.
Two weeks for wipes.
And that's before the ca statewide lockdown.
Can't find regular bleach yet.
(No, don't buy the splashless, etc - those are clearly Not certified or good for disinfection like regular bleach per label.)

Crying... Down to my last five bars of the good stuff - Dial Bars with triclosan, not the new weak one with b.chloride.
While tricolsan can result in stronger bacterial strains, corona virus is like SARS - nuked like bleach under a mere 0.05% concentration.
Gotta find some more stock soon along with Listerine...
Supermarket said there's plenty of stock but they can't order more. The high demand left truckers unable to keep up with shipments. It's not a supply problem. It's greedy panicky people.
It's pathetic when they need to keep sanitizer locked up
TP on the shelf, disinfectant wipes, eggs, milk, bread, etc...
People are still over buying groceries , a lot of empty spots.

Better wipe down / wash anything possibly contaminated - CASH, coins, keys, car surfaces, etc.

Isn't Walmart one of the biggest retailers of this?
Is it all being diverted to hospitals at this point? Just wondering where it is going.
Everyone, we need to thank China for giving us this wonderful time in history. It is all thanks to them.

Not really. Only about 712 of 3618 [statista.com]passengers/crew (567/145) got it and 10 died, none under 70 years of age. Up to 410 had ZERO symptoms.
This site [wattsupwiththat.com] has some interesting graphs showing how many were asymptomatic by age, etc. It's very interesting data on a case where it probably presented the absolute best "petri dish" to circulate the disease, yet only like 17% got it, half were asymptomatic, despite the overwhelmingly "old" characteristics of the "population" (hint: FAR older than the US at large, check out that bar chart!)
(shaded areas are DP, hashed are US)
And btw it's important to distinguish:
This story was updated to reflect that SARS-CoV-2 RNA, not live virus, was identified on surfaces in cruise ship cabins up to 17 days after cabins were vacated on the Diamond Princess.
Meaning that doesn't mean you could have gotten infected after 17 days.
