It looks like AT&T may be starting a new promotion for the start of the month. I just went to my account to see what is offered since my 100mbps fiber plan is about up. Only 100mbps($45/mo) and 1000mbps($39.99/mo) is offered, no 300mbps is offered, but it was available a day ago for $40, and I saw an ad for it on TV today. If you have AT&T internet, check the plans offered in your account dashboard. There is no mention of equipment charges, but this is for a bundle. Southern states.

AT&T Internet 1000
Includes unlimited internet data$59.99
$20 off for 12 months with bundle-$20.00

Internet subtotal
$39.99

Currently have Internet 300 for $90 - $30 (ongoing) = $60

Moving to Internet 1000 would be an increase in 700MBs but $69.99 - $20 (12 months) = $49.99

Is moving up 700MBs worth the $69.99/month bill one year from now? $10+/moth for 700MBs.

75mbps maximum $49.99 + $10 monthly equipment fee with 1TB cap doesn't even beat greedy Spectrum here.

Thanks OP! I was able to switch to 1000Mbps for $50 by logging in my att account. I currently have 300Mbps for $50. So pretty much free upgrade for x3 the speed and no data cap. I did chat with an agent to confirm there's no equipment fee and no contract.

Please suggest how to avoid $10 monthly equipment fee? Can we buy the modem/router instead? Thanks
No way to avoid it for new customers. Cannot buy your own equipment.

Partially correct. Not all fiber is synchronous. In the case of AT&T, they call it fiber, but it's only fiber to some point in your neighborhood, then the "extra mile" to your house is not.

Even for businesses, AT&T Fiber comes in two flavors -- Dedicated service (very expensive), and Cheap. The Cheap option is not the same up and down speeds. Nor is the home service.

That has been my experience since getting AT&T Small Business Fiber for a client in SoCal. Cheap, but not synchronous. Also, they filter, even for businesses, so things like mail servers do not work.

Of course, in my neighborhood, no AT&T Fiber. Gotta stick with greedy COX with their data caps.
BS. I have ATT fiber and I can see the fiber strand running into the house to the ONT to convert it to Ethernet.

I went to look at this and passed.
Currently I have..
AT&T Internet 1000$99.00
GigaPower Intro Price $29 off for Life of offer-$29.00
Additional charges
AT&T Internet Equipment Fee$7.00Ongoing Internet wireless gateway fee waiver-$7.00$
Internet subtotal$70.00

My bill is exactly $70 for life it looks like. I'm afraid switching to an into offer will jump in 12 months.
I too have this exact same plan as well. Not change it for a yearly one, then have to call and play games.

Current customer. Went from 300 for $50 to 1000 for $50. No equipment charge before or after.

Got email stating my order has been processed but haven't seen the speed increase yet.

No, he's correct. It depends the area you're in. This is how new installations for their "fiber" plans were in Kansas City until about 2 - 3 years ago. There's other cities, including still parts of Kansas City, that are still getting "fiber" this way.

I was tempted to do it since I have $50/mo for 300/300 plan but that is lifetime deal I have. If I switch to this, I'll be giving up the lifetime $50 deal...what's 300/300 go for now?

Thanks OP! I looked on the app on my phone, didn't see the offer there. So called ATT, eventually got sent through to the loyalty department and was eventually hooked up with the deal there. Super happy. So now my bill will be $59.99 for the year after the first month surcharge. I was okay with paying $80+ a month coming from Comcast's $64.99 for 300 plan. Now this is even better. Anyone know what the price will be after the year? Hopefully I can get the deal again next year.
