It looks like AT&T may be starting a new promotion for the start of the month. I just went to my account to see what is offered since my 100mbps fiber plan is about up. Only 100mbps($45/mo) and 1000mbps($39.99/mo) is offered, no 300mbps is offered, but it was available a day ago for $40, and I saw an ad for it on TV today. If you have AT&T internet, check the plans offered in your account dashboard. There is no mention of equipment charges, but this is for a bundle. Southern states.

AT&T Internet 1000
Includes unlimited internet data$59.99
$20 off for 12 months with bundle-$20.00

Internet subtotal
$39.99

Thanks op, I can't say how much I appreciate your post- I got the Giga fiber with same price as 100Mbps, and no data cap any more!
You guys are really lucky, I signed up in October with $70 deal and they wouldn't budge since this deal is only for new comers. What a full of bs.

Great! Just when you think you couldn't hate AT&T any more, they surprise you with this.

This is just a new promotion for new comers and current users. I think earlier in this thread some people were able to get CS agents to adjust to the new price. And some downgraded and then got the offer and upgraded. Don't give up yet. And check your account and see what's offered when you click the change plan button.

I was told by the AT&T installer guy last time they installed the internet at my home that my street only has the old 25Mb connection therefore I couldn't get any faster internet.
Can I still apply for this promo?
Or I'm stuck with the slow old internet?

when I got my ATT fiber last week, I asked my installer how they know the house has fiber already and he told me that once a house had fiber line run to the property, they put an indicator on the utility line viable from the house with the house number and that tells them (the installer) that the house has been wired and they just need to go to the nearby neighborhood ATT box to physically make the fiber connection and just run the fiber line from the utility pole to the house. in my cause it was just an orange plate/sign hanging from the wires than ran under the power lines with my house number on it that was put there years ago, I wondered what that was and didn't think much about it when that just appeared one day. I don't know if that's just in my region/state or if ATT does that as standard practice.

I was about to say they have a orange stripe/separator or something between the pole and the fiber line. Also, they can't make a sharp bend in the fiber line, it has to be a radius. Just keep an eye out for the orange tubes sticking out of the ground in the neighborhood....or the boring machine.

yeah, mine demonstrated for me (with some left over cut segments) how "flexible" those fiber lines are. they're not very flexible when they're encased in the outer shell for environmental protection but once you strip off that casing and get to the actual fiber line inside, that line itself is incredibly flexibly and could blend around a finger without much concern.

for my area, they ran the fiber line under the power lines on the poles, I know some areas bury them in the ground and runs from house to house but from the sound of it, whatever way it's done, there's some indicator for the installers. the indicator isn't exactly hidden put probably oblivious if you're not looking for it or don't know what to look for.

I was able to negotiate Fiber 1000 down from $90 (all
in) to $69.99-10=$59.99 for 12 months. I pushed for $49.99 (deal on website) was told I'd have to pay for equipment at that price. I accepted $59.99.

So you had 1000 with your own gateway? Equipment charge for equipment you already have?

I have their mandatory equipment (terrible junk) but grandfathered with no fee.

AT&T Internet 1000 $49.99/mo for my place. Price for 12 months. I've been paying xfinity Performance Internet $39.99/mo and it expires in 2 weeks. Good timing for me to test out AT&T fiber speed.
