It looks like AT&T may be starting a new promotion for the start of the month. I just went to my account to see what is offered since my 100mbps fiber plan is about up. Only 100mbps($45/mo) and 1000mbps($39.99/mo) is offered, no 300mbps is offered, but it was available a day ago for $40, and I saw an ad for it on TV today. If you have AT&T internet, check the plans offered in your account dashboard. There is no mention of equipment charges, but this is for a bundle. Southern states.

AT&T Internet 1000
Includes unlimited internet data$59.99
$20 off for 12 months with bundle-$20.00

Internet subtotal
$39.99

My install is set up for Friday of next week. I live in a two story and need to get the fiber into my attic so the ONT can go in my network closet upstairs. Hopefully the tech is willing to drill up through the soffit. I'm willing to get in the attic to pull it through and I already have the drop into my closet from the attic. Looking forward to it. Getting gig fiber for $10 less per month than my current Comcast 200mbps service is sweet.

Given COVID19, my guess is the tech probably would prefer to do it all himself and the longer he spends at one location, probably the better. When I had mine installed in early March, my tech was very accommodating on the install that I wanted and wasn't in a rush to get assigned another install if he finished too quickly.

I wanted to run fiber through the craws space and up into my closet. I pre-run a cable from the craw space into the closet before AT& came so that I can use it to pull the fiber up. when AT&T, I showed him how to run but eventually I ran it myself. He just stand outside and fed fiber to me. Then he pulled the pre-run cable, which is taped to the fiber, to pull up the fiber from the craw space, while I am dirty down there.

Not necessarily. I replaced Comcast with AT&T Fiber end of December and I had both Ethernet and Cable ports available. The tech said he could use either, and eventually used the Ethernet port. But, if you have a cable endpoint, that would work as well.

I took advantage of this offer beginning of last month and my new statement that came yesterday showed the new $50 plan with no equipment fee until early March 2021, and a prorated bill for March 2020 with the reduced price.
  • Old Plan: $70/month + $10 equipment fee
  • New Plan: $50/month, no equipment fee
I had to call CS to downgrade my account to 300Mbps, and waited less than an hour to upgrade to the promo deal by myself online. For those who are on a higher price for the same plan can try this trick. However, this deal is now warm as the $10 equipment fee is back on.

Also, the reward is now only $50 when it was higher earlier. Also, got a free WiFi extender offer when using their "Smart Home Manager" app.

I just got my new bill. The price seems like it makes sense. They're billing me ~$100 for last month and require a prepay for the upcoming month due to the package switch. My last package was ~$50 and this upgrade was quoted as $50 as well so that seems to make sense. The confusing part is a $30 fee for Unlimited Usage Plan Stand-alone fee listed — is anyone else seeing this? My I had ATT TV NOW that automatically adds unlimited internet to lower tiered plans but now I think it got glitched and added a fee to the already unlimited internet package.

Talk to CS or get a hold of them on chat (likely easier). Also, AT&T seems to be doing a good job with a custom video explaining the bill. These are charged one month in advance, so verify how your past month was prorated and when you made the switch. My new bill was very clear in explaining the breakdown and the promo cost for April.

It's not a ring network like many cable lines used to be. But, at least in my neighborhood, several homes run to the same junction box, and then junction box runs to some central area, then out to the Internet. Each stop might have possible bottlenecks.
Yes, GPON which AT&T uses splits a fiber though I believe their layout is a direct line to your junction box and then they split it there. Standards are 16, 32 or 256. I believe AT&T just splits it to 16.

The line going to the central office offers 2.5Gbps down and 1.25Gpbs up. Due to the majority of Internet traffic, you are unlikely to be affected by your neighbors on the shared node. Generally, the remote servers you are connected to won't be able to handle your full available bandwidth.

Install service is terrible. Gave me a appointment time two weeks out, verified 3 times before that day.
On the day of, got a 6 hour delay message and then a cancel and reschedule message. Now the next install date is 2 weeks out again. So basically wait a month to even get service.

My apartment is already hooked up with their fiber and ONT so all it needs is a gateway but they won't allow for a self-install. Terrible.

If anyone is still thinking about getting a new plan(not current customers), I just noticed that the CB portal offer for new AT&T internet plans is ending tomorrow. It ranges from $75 internet to $150 with bundles. This is in addition to any AT&T rewards.

I'm like you in wanting to squeeze out all that's possible for a deal, but sometimes it gets to be a hassle. I don't think this will get better since tomorrow begins the Easter holiday. For me it was being able to get the top speed at a real good price. If you're going to get a faster speed and/or lower price then go for it. Remember to empty your cart/basket before you go thru the CB portal and get the conformation pop-up. You must start with an empty basket before clicking through to AT&T, and it must be completed immediately and fully online. I've lost things in past because of having something already in the cart. When you get to checkout try the codes and hopefully they might stack as someone has said. SAVEMORE, SPRING25 and ATT25(I think this one was replaced with the spring one). When you get to checkout you might try a call to a rep, if you can get through, and tell them you're at check out and hesitant because you don't like the equipment fee to see if they will do anything....worth a shot. I don't think this will get any better with rewards since the rollout was over a month back.

thanks for reply..i completely forgotten i had to order by today hahah..im on online chat w/att now and hope i can get the $200 reward cards in my cart from last month

update: this is why i hate dealing w/att..when cs says your cart is good for 60days, u expect everything to stay the same right? at least thats what i assumed, unfortunately all the prices and reward cards as dropped! lost $100 and the price for internet is $10 more than what i had in my cart last month
