If I don't care about Atmos should I buy these or something else?

Noooo and I JUST setup my f-300 for $300! Is it suitable to just use my old speakers pointed up for Atmos if I get an atmos receiver? Or do these real ones really make that big of a difference?

Definitely these. The f300, while technically not a step down, have a much narrower "sweet spot" courtesy of the 60x90 horn. The 90X90 is a much wider, lifelike sound stage imo.

Hopefully these will be the same price on day after thanksgiving.
I'm looking forward to getting these (or a pair similar) to really make my home theater come alive

How do these compare to my current RP-250Fs with R-14SAs?

Since you already own Reference Premier speakers, I would not recommend stepping down to the Reference series.

I am using these for surrounds and Atmos top speakers for rear presence. Atmos effect is not par with my ceiling speakers but not bad. Overall not bad for $550 surround speaker setup. I just didn't want to pay 2k for Revel performa3 surrounds

Can someone please explain the benefit of having Dolby Atmos? my 1996 Explorer has Atmos built into the speakers but I'm assuming these are better.
