Is the screen glossy or anti-glare?

This is going to sell really well once the sale kicks in. I'm in for one. With the micro SD slot for more data storage it's a no brainer.

Does under bolting allow for longer battery life or heat?

Sweet. Do you have the Costco exclusive version with the 512GB vs 1TB config? Can you tell us if both nvme slots are taken up or just the one and in what capacity?
I have the Costco version and it had one free slot.

Glossy. I didnt like it so i bought an anti glare matte screen protector from amazon. Brand is celicious and the only one i could find on amazon or ebay that wasnt anti privacy screen because i hate those.

You get 2 and its pretty hard to put on without getting bubbles. If youre not good at putting screen protectors on phones well, this is way more difficult that doing that. I was able to push out all my bubbles on my 2nd attempt.

Yes. I use throttlestop. There are simple guides if you google it.

It boosted my cinebench r20 from 1100 something to 1300 something. I cant remember exact numbers but it was a pretty decent boost

Great thanks for the info, that's certainly handy to know. Did you put in a secondary nvme drive? Any limitations i.e. Single / double sided?

Did you find any other exclusive to Costco bits or the config for the rest same as the standard model?

Sorry lastly I guess you'll be taking Costco up on their 30 day price adjustment perk and getting back $300? Smilie

Throttlestop entirely software based, no hardware mod requirements?

None. For my 2019 lg gram 17, i did around -100 for both cpu core and cache and i think around -30 for igpu. Ymmv

I cant speak for having the 2020 gram but from what i have read, people have not had luck with modding the internals of the 2019 gram. Its 3lbs and lg had to skimp hard on the pipes and fan. I wish it was 3.3 lbs and had good thermals but most people dont notice throttling and under 3 lbs and 17 inch laptop is great for marketing.

If you need performance for certain programs or gaming, look elsewhere. For basic use with occasional cpu intensive work and very light gaming, its amazing imo

Is this true for both 15.6" touch and 17" non-touch versions? Seems dumb but the distinction is important to me and probably anyone else looking at this for photoshop/productivity purposes.

I can't speak for this new 17" LG Gram version, but I can speak about the last version of the LG Gram 17" which I bought a few months ago to try to make it run macOS. I believe both machines are quite similar.

There are 2 slots for NVMe drives inside so I added a 2TB HP ex950 (one of the fastest SSDs available) and then I did a few basic internal thermal cooling upgrades, which was all very simple to do.

There is 16GB RAM inside, which is in the form of 2 RAM sticks @ 8GB each. One stick is soldered to the board but you can upgrade the other up to 32GB, and have a total of 40GB. I didn't do that upgrade, but it would be super easy to do so.

It has USB-C thunderbolt port which can be used for charging too. I bought a small travel form factor USB-C charger and it charges great!

I didn't do any thermal undervolting(or whatever it's called) but that's supposed to be easy to do on my version, and apparently yields even better speeds etc.

What I can say is this laptop is unbelievably light and the screen is quite nice. If you don't require touchscreen and want large screen real estate in a light and portable format, you can not beat this computer for the price!

As for this version, at $1200 plus tax, then if you add a 2TB SSD (around $250-$350 for top notch drive) you have one hellova computer with storage to spare, even if you can't undervolt (?) this new version to gain more speed...

Alas, it was more difficult than I imagined to try to load macOS so unfortunately my LG Gram 17 just sits unused (with its original plastic wrap still in tact) as it quickly got replaced by a 16" MacBook Pro. (Inset sticker shock emoji here)

Anyhow, I hope this helped someone who was on the fence Smilie

This thing is a beast for productivity, not just thin and light but also narrow bezels means you're fitting a 17-inch screen in nearly the smallest possible traditional laptop form factor. The i7 i7-1065G7 is a 10nm chip, so it's a nice upgrade over previous generations of ultrabook CPUs. More importantly, it also has Iris Plus graphics, which are good enough for light gaming (Rocket League, CS:GO, League of Legends, etc) and will make certain workloads much faster.

If I were in the market for this type of ultrabook this is definitely the one I'd get.

Anyone have concerns or pros for this on reliability for a desktop/replacement? Not as concerned about speed since I'm not a gamer or into regular, demanding video production. Just want something that will last a few years for a home-based, mobile business. Touchscreen not critical either as I hate fingerprints so this is looking like it has potential. I've had Dell XPS and HP Envy before. Considering the 2020s from each of them too, but they don't have anything spec-matched to this value right now.
