no key hole for backup? hmm not trying this. but looks like a good deal, thanks op.
Just replaced one of these- within six months a spring slipped from the locking mechanism So when locking or unlocking the knob would not catch the deadbolt. Spent two months entering the code and twisting the non catching latch on every lock and unlock before I opened it up and reset the spring. Then it worked for six weeks and slipped again so I replaced it with a Yale keypad.
Be careful on these, the earlier built locks had a design flaw that made the lock slip/skip when trying to engage it, ask me how I know...

The manufacturer will replace, but they aren't advertising the flaw by any means.

Which door knob would you recommend with this?

I got one of these for my side door because there are plantation shutters restrict how large the back of the lock can actually be. It's been great so far and when the battery is running low, it lets you know so you can replace it. Super easy installation and battery change.

Can this be connected to smartthings ?

Does it only allow 4 digit codes?

I also had the same issue when I purchased a refurb one on Build. How did you get it replaced for free by manufacturer?

I got a similar deal from build.com previously (different color). While the lock is working fine, it's seriously scratched. YMMV.

what if batteries completely die before you notice. Say, you are on a 30 day vacation and forgot to replace when it was beeping. You are locked out!
Good lock then for a side/back door, it seems, considering this point?

I will try to combine the 20% (it was $20 off coupon) I got when they cancelled the faucet order!

If you look on the outside there are two round pins on the bottom. If your battery were to die, you out a 9 volt battery against those and it will let you in.

How long has the battery typically lasted?
