I can confirm this is just a shelf, so as long as your phone + case is not wider than the Switch it should work for both. I use this little thing all the time.

Like someone else said, you can be plugged in with this one. Also, the built in stand seems flimsy. I'm super paranoid my kids are going to break it. I'd rather they use this.

the build-in stand is pretty terrible, it can barely stand on its own just sitting there. Now imagine you're on a plane. There's no chance the built-in stand will be useful because any slight turbulence or bump will cause it to fall over and be on the floor. I can't speak for the insignia, but just from the looks, I'd much rather get the PowerA Metal stand (https://www.amazon.com/PowerA-Compact-Metal-Stand-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B079LRBNKV/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=... [amazon.com]) which has been absolutely amazing for me. It is like a rock and withstands a decent amount of turbulence without budging.
