Hotdogs and burgers are called a bbq where I'm from.

We cook over coal and that's barbecuing.

1, it's charcoal, not coal.

2, you can call it whatever you like, but what you're doing is grilling, not BBQing. BBQing is cooking meat low and slow. You don't BBQ a hamburger or a steak or a hot dog. You grill them.

How much better is this compared to throwing a flat cast iron on a normal bbq?? I notice mine gets rust colors after each use...

it depends on what you're cooking. If you want to cook a lot of burgers or something, this is what you want.

You can do steaks on them too, but in my experience, steaks in a cast iron skillet are better. The skillet will contain the juices and/or melted butter that you can then spoon over the top after you flip the steak. If you are cooking a lot of steaks, then this will work fine. I have the 28" blackstone and opt to use it for steaks even though I know the cast iron is better. The blackstone is simpler to coordinate because I don't have to take a heavy pan outside, uncover the LP grill, etc... I have the blackstone on my covered patio and it also has its own lid. I just step 2 steps out my door, light it, go inside and season my steaks and oil them up, throw them on for 2 or 3 minutes per side... after dinner, it's as easy as scraping it clean with the only dirty dish being the flipper.

I used flax oil to season mine and it looks great.

Blasphemy. A guy would have to have a Smoker, Grill, Griddle and a Turkey Fryer/open burner just to get a meal cooked. Next thing your gonna say is each of those needs to come in propane, Lump or briquette and plain split wood. Wait Wait I forgot pellets. Nobody needs that much stuff to BBQ. At least that's what my wife would tell me. She is now my X wife. I think the multi function trailer that did all of the above put her over the edge. Its all fun and games till someone loses a (well you know) (HUMOR FULLY INTENDED)

That includes the stand, which you don't have to bring

17 inch is a good size for camping. This one is too big. 60 lb.
He could be right I picked mine up today and its a beast. Haven't unboxed it yet but I can see it staying home and a 17in going in the Camp Trailer. I will try it and see and at this price its worth the just having it around. I will sleep well tonight knowing I have added to my arsenal.

Incorrect, it was 17″ 1-Burner Portable Table Top Griddle with no hood, no legs.

Just got home with mine. Pretty much came assembled. Box was twice the size I was expecting and was heavier than expected as well.

This thing is both bigger and better built than I was expecting. Will season it up tomorrow and make some smash burgers!

As far as portability goes... the included stand has folding/telescoping legs. The actual unit (body/griddle surface/hood) will take up a good about of space in a trunk even without the stand and may be a bit heavy and cumbersome for some.

Picked mine up too, it's certainly the perfect size for me. (Cooking for 5), but I could easily see it being too large for some users.

Can I keep this outside all year like my grill or will it turn into a rusty tetanus hazard?
