Can I keep this outside all year like my grill or will it turn into a rusty tetanus hazard?
You season it will oil and it reduces the risk, but the griddle itself is not stainless steel. It will rust just like cast iron will. I'd put a cover on it or keep it under a covered patio or in the garage.

Picked mine up today, seasoned it and fried (griddled?) up some ribeyes for dinner.

Question: is the center supposed to be slightly higher than the sides so that grease/oil runs to the edges? I assumed it would be totally flat but I've never owned a griddle before. Thanks in advance.

is there anyway to convert this to natural gas?
I bought the blackstone conversion kit, but it seems like its incompatible with the 22" griddle.

I already ordered this but as someone who knows little about grills/griddled I have a question for costco members. Does costco carry a comparably good grill or griddle at this price point? i have seen kitchenaid and a couple other brands which have covers but no stands. How do they compare? TIA.

as far as outdoor griddles go, there's only 3 big name brands that are worth buying in this price range. camp chef, blue rhino, and blackstone. those 3 have the biggest following.

Hoping the rest of Walmart's blackstone products go on clearance. They have some nice stuff.

I have the Blackstone Tailgate (griddle and grill combo) and use it all year. If I don't keep in covered (and it gets wet) the griddle can start to rust. Unfortunately, a cover in my area of Hudson Highlands can turn unit into a wind surfing machine. I've found my covered grill 50 yards away, so I cant use the full covers. The rust isn't what causes tetanus. Its the bacteria on the old rusted nails that does that. A little rust here and there wont wipe you out. I get more concerned about the black gunk that can quickly build-up on grills. I cook at night a lot, and the next day things can look ugly!

Comparable? Not really.
My warehouse has one camp stove right now, a blue rhino triple burner that comes with a cast iron griddle for one burner. Over double the size total and 4x the price. Meant for running large stock pots mostly

I'm just thinking of the added space it'll take up with the stand and the lid. But damn, that second burner would be nice!

Ha. This is Slickdeals, so I bought it. I'll probably get rid of one of them, one day, but for now, I'll have all 3.
