There are several YouTube videos and tutorials on how to DIY your own shadowline for much less (~$20).
I'm on mobile, or I'd link them.

Yes. They won't give you any money back though.

You shouldn't cut vinyl plank with a miter saw unless you really know what you are doing and you should tape it up. Spacing is key and depends upon the plank substrate. Mostly score and cut. They have plank cutters you can just rent from your big box store. Minimally you would have to get a different blade. HTH.
I was thinking of using my skil saw for that.

Really egregious how much premium they charge for dual bevel.

What is your use that you want the slider for? I've been on the fence for a while, I would want a slider if I had a permanent bench for it. After working with 2x12x12s a bit last year I decided I'd rather move a circular saw with a 90 guide than move the boards on a miter saw. I'm not sure, but between a 10" slider and a 12" non-slider I'm betting that the 12" non-slider will be more accurate for trim corners.

I wish there were deals for the DWS716XPS version with blade shadow light. I know you can add it on yourself with third party parts for about $80 but the XPS version is normally only $25 more.
This. 12 inch compound is way bigger than a 10 inch and can saw a 2x8 in one pass, or a 4x4 without hitting the spindle. Better than a slider 10. Sliders worth the investment are lots more expensive, avoid cutting corners lol. This 12 is a very good way to go.

Buy the 12 not the 10. You'll be glad you did.

My sliding miter saw makes cleaner cuts and never burns when it cuts because you dont have to go balls deep right in the middle of your wood and just a smoother cut overall.

There isnt anything wrong with non sliding miter saws and if you plan on bringing it with you for jobs you definitely dont want a sliding saw, but I'd just rather have the extra performance and not need it than need it and not have it

Nice saws. I'm holding out for the Hercules one from HF though. It has the shadow cast line for a perfect cut, the same positive stops, dual bevel, and 12" (which really comes in handy cutting larger crown molding). All their other saws may be junk but this one ($300-350) many people actually prefer over it's $600 counterpart. The extended warranty also makes it nice to get it replaced or fixed by taking it the store instead of shipping it off. My 2 cents..

You will never wish you had a smaller saw(Unless you have to lug it around)

Blades are more expensive, but if you expand on your hobby, you won't have to buy another saw.

Bought a double bevel and stand. Mostly for the stand.

If you are only going to own one saw make it 12" dual bevel. Sliding is an option but it is MUCH heavier and bulkier. I currently own a 716 and 780.

If you want two saws then get the 12" and a 7" slider for mobility. I just bought the milwaukee 71/4" m18 saw but havent really had much time with it. For most people, a 71/4" slider does 90% of what you need with precision.

What a steal, I have an older verison of the DeWalt 10" saw...it was used when I got it but it's still ticking. This is a great deal seeing that it comes with the stand too. If you're using this all day long the stand is invaluable to your leg, knees, etc...if you need one of these don't hesitate to pull the trigger. This deal is almost like buy a saw cheap and get the stand for free.

Got the deal from Lowes a year or so back that had the dual bevel w/ slider + stand for ~$340...it got me through a gigantic deck rebuild and more home renovation work than i could've imagined. This is still a good deal.
