Thought about this, but can't find much in way of reviews as this seems to be discontinued. For $10 more the higher wattage larger capacity version can be had on amazon sales. I would wait.

Cuisineart makes some of the most reliable food processors out there. We have a 11 cup and 14 cup. They are excellent! The quality of the build to the processing power is definitely more compared to a $20 one. If you do a lot of cutting, chopping, mincing, etc, use this and don't look back.

I upgraded not too long ago from a cheap food processor to the Cuisinart DFP-14BCNY (was on sale for $99 from Amazon, so seems better to wait for a different deal than buy this 7 cup at $89).

The main differences in favor of the Cuisinart (and probably most higher-priced alternatives) are:
  • High quality blades, I can slice tomatoes nicely, the cheaper unit would slice them but would make a lot more juice doing so.
  • Quieter operation.
  • Easier to clean/less waste (cheaper one left more unprocessed and had some awkward spots where bits would get jammed in making cleaning annoying)
  • Stronger motor (can make dough, which cheaper one didn't do great at)
  • Better pulse control, you let off the pulse button and it stops very quickly, cheaper ones sometimes keep spinning for a bit which can ruin your chop consistency.


The only things I don't like about the Cuisinart are the short feed tube and the safety mechanism that means you have to insert it part way before you can turn it on. Also it doesn't have adjustable blades, have to buy individuals at ~$30 each. Still happy with it.

No comparison, I bought Cuisinart DFP-14BCNY 14-Cup Food Processor when it was on sale last time and it was the best investment i ever made. Literally spending less time on chopping. It made entire process of chopping or mincing a breeze.

No regrets and I would buy again when I need to. Go for Cuisinart and not for the rebate ones for $20
