10" Second Gen saw with shadow-line and improvements over the Gen 1. This was $352 when I ordered it after finding it on the Bosch 10" miter saw
deal posted on the 1st (which is still available at
Home Depot [homedepot.com]). It is now down to $332 and much cheaper than anywhere else (except
Menards [menards.com], but I don't have one anywhere near me).
Mine arrived 6 days after order despite the 1-4 weeks quoted. YMMV.
This thing is really well built and sitting next to my
Bosch [amazon.com] there are a lot of similarities and some distinct differences.
Both feel great with adjustable articulation and build quality.
The Delta is quieter, lighter, better dust collection, and a factory installed shadow-line.
The Bosch has extendable arms that can help a little with bigger pieces.
Personal preference, but I find the the controls to be much nicer/more crisp on the Delta (My Bosch is in great condition, the controls just feel mushier).

Thanks, I'm not sure how to edit the title from mobile. I'll try to fix it.
-Got it.
Figured I would add these pictures for future reference.
This is my 12" Bosch next to the new 10" Delta.
Either they are made in the same factory, but more likely across the street.
Bosch is made in China, Delta is made in Taiwan.
Both use metal and plastic in the same places.
Both have the same surface finish.
Fit and finish are clean and tight (certain people commenting on sloppiness of the outstretched delta on display should see if that is the gen 1, this gen 2 has almost no slop).
Both have a maximum of 3/32" of play at full extension with me applying moderate force from side to side.
If you can see it in the pictures, the delta bed is perfectly flat and the Bosch turret is a few thousandths higher than the wings.
The Delta Fence castings for the holes were not cleaned properly and the most paper thin metal was still present (easily poked out with a finger and not a problem, most likely just a QC miss).
Deltas arm mechanism and bevel function is smoother in every way over the Bosch (not a big deal, only noticeable with them side by side).
Delta has the shadow line, Bosch does not.
My takeaway is that this Delta is not like any other cheaper Delta I've ever seen or used. This machine is easily on par with others in it's price range and class and no one should feel bad about getting this over the Bosch. Both feel Great.
I went and looked at this in person after another miter saw thread and thought that it had a lot of side to side slop/wiggle. All sliders have some, especially at max extension, but the cruzer mechanism doesn't seem that stable even when it isn't extended. FWIW I wasn't impressed by the Bosch slider either. The cheaper delta non-cruzer slider with traditional rails seemed stiffer to me.

Mine has not needed adjustments often whatsoever. It stays in a miter station in my shop so I'm not tossing it in the back of a truck and driving around. Every once in a while I will play with it to make sure everything is zeroed up but it has started true for me
Is Delta a pro-grade brand? I don't know much about it and the reviews aren't that great on Amazon. How is the quality and do they back their warranty well?
