I've been looking at this for a cheap mobile gaming laptop but am concerned about cooling. Is it single or dual fans? How loud does fan(s) it get during a high GPU load? Also, is RAM single or dual channel? Soldered or no? Screen brightness, color gamut, input lag, response time and contrast? Keyboard, trackpad and chassis quality?

I have 4 of these in the 15" Version called PS63 deployed at my company and got them because they don't look as gamey as other gaming laptops. So my rough review is based on that.

The MSI's are light and thin so that's great for starters. I'd say build quality is great compared to Lenovos because here we have had to RMA one Lenovo due to screen flickering and RMA another Lenovo for keycaps breaking. So the keycaps here are solid.

Fans are loud under gaming loads but they are dual fans.

Trackpad quality is great almost feels like a MacBook Pro. Chassis is thinner material than MacBook but it's definitely metal because it feels cold to the touch in the morning.

Monitor I'd say it feels roughly 300-350 nits.

I believe this 14in version only has 1 ram slot as opposed to the 15in version (PS63) which has 2 slots.

Is this a joke?
$829 for a 1050 Max-Q?
in March of 2020?

This should be like 599 at most.
I would wait for the new models to hit and at WORST get something much more up to date.
I wouldn't accept anything less than 1650 or 1660ti at above 800.

Nothing about this is a 'deal'

This model (PS42) has a max screen brightness around 240nits. Also has a very small (3.8 x 2.2-inch) plastic touch pad that feels nothing at all like the huge glass touchpad on a MacBook.

Until this I didn't even realize they made a Max-Q version of 1050 given how underpowered 1050 already is.

good luck fitting your 1650 or 1660ti in a 2.62lb. chassis (12.68" x 8.74" x 0.63") lol
