Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.
I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

I need mobile hotspot data. The next plan to offer such feature costs $60 a month.
But I don't have the device in hand. Once I receive the SIM, can I activate/portin the line without actually having the device in hand.

They even give you an extended return period so you can actually try it out.

AFAIK, you will need the phone to insert sim to complete activation. SIM and IMEI should match what's in their system for the line to work.
