Sprint WILL RELOCK your unlocked device as they did to mine. Not a single incident as friends and family of mine got their RELOCKED to the sprint network. We all had unlocked devices when signed up. Now all our phones are locked to Sprint. Thats illegal.
You have to stay for 90 days to keep the $300 and their unlock policy is 60 days, so while I agree they should not be re-locking phones, you can get it re-unlocked after 60 days and before your 90 day requirement is fulfilled.
Thanks! Ordered the BYOD Amazon SIM on Monday and was sitting on whether to switch my Iphone over. I felt a little dirty about going back to Sprint. I left them 4 years ago (after 18 years as a customer) and said I'd never go back.

Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.

I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

The $35 Kickstart plan is not really usable for me.

I need mobile hotspot data. The next plan to offer such feature costs $60 a month. Frown

Here...which got posted just the page before... Excl. 11+ Corporate-liable, prepaid & ports made between Sprint and related entities.
"Excl. 11+ Corporate-liable, prepaid & ports made between Sprint and related entities. " ? So it has to be ported from a non-Sprint postpaid line? How about non-Sprint prepaid line like from Visible or Mint?

I don't see how Sprint can tell if the number being ported in is prepaid or postpaid. When I entered my Visible phone number, it simply showed the carrier as "Verizon". Besides, what difference does it make to Sprint, they still take away a customer from a competitor.

Thats what I am trying to find from everyone here who are porting from Visible and Mint. I have already ported from Mint and worried if I have to waste 3 months on Sprint for nothing after seeing this.

I believe you need the IMEI while registering online. You will need the actual device once you get the sim via mail.
I have the IMEI so I can complete a BYOD order.
But I don't have the device in hand. Once I receive the SIM, can I activate/portin the line without actually having the device in hand.

All Sprint plans (including KickStart) now include 20GB of free high-speed Mobile Hotspot/ line for at least 60 days.

From what I've read, Sprint pairs the phone IMEI to the SIM in their system. If you put the SIM into another phone, it won't work properly to connect to Sprint network to be activated. I could be wrong.

Go to the link below, scroll down to How To Bring Your Own Device, once you're past the IMEI check, the next step is to order a SIM kit.

Check out PDANet if you're using Android. I've been pretty happy with it.

They even give you an extended return period so you can actually try it out.

AFAIK, you will need the phone to insert sim to complete activation. SIM and IMEI should match what's in their system for the line to work.

Thank you. I went through the whole process and was not asked anything about a SIM card. I can't do it again because it shows my device (IMEI) is already with Sprint.

There is link to their 4-in-1 Sim in the Wiki I posted, but for easy reference: https://www.sprint.com/mysprint/s...ndent=true

You can get free overnight shipping just by changing the shipping option.

You are correct. I wonder if that is a CDMA limitation.
