The proof is simple: no signal when you put SIM from another carrier! LMAO
Any chance that it's just that their activation process made some (reversible) changes to your phone's network configuration?

I keep reading from people who say that Sprint locked their unlocked (non-Sprint) phone but it sounds so weird.

Maybe it can be undone manually (maybe through the developer interface)?

For referral purpose I want to open an account for my wife at Sprint and would like to port a T mobile number under my name to her new account at Sprint? Is that porting possible - from my T Mobile account to her Sprint account or do I need to first changer ownership at T Mobile?
Yes, you can do. In case if name match is required then you can change the name on you T-Mobile account before porting

Maybe I'm overthinking this now (as I'm waiting for a free line to port out of Sprint).

I know the free line's phone number can't be ported back in for some time to qualify for this promo.

What about SSN? Can I port out free line and then after a day or two sign up again with credit check under the same SSN, and of course different phone numbers?

Thanks for your help.

I didn't even know it was possible for a carrier to lock someone's factory unlocked phone...2 questions:

1) Like for example if someone bought a pixel directly through Google that was never locked in the first place, Sprint could lock their phone only to Sprint?....

2) What did you guys do that caused them to take such a harsh action?
Facory unlocked cannot be locked by any carrier.

If it was a Sprint version, then some phones (not all Sprint phons) get relocked as it happened to me. I got them unlocked the same day. Don't have to wait 50 days since it was already unlocked and paid for.

You can't. This promo is for new customers only. They won't let you open a new credit check acct with the same SSN while there is one still open albeit with no lines. You have to be off Sprint for 45 days+ to open a new acct with the same SSN.

You can open a new no credit check acct, but you can't use the same numbers.

Yeah I didn't think factory unlocked can be locked by any carrier, but ilovegooddeal's response clearly said the opposite.

no, they only lock Sprint phones, not factory unlocked phones.

Thank you for helping to stop the spread of misinformation. ilovegooddeal is incorrect then, despite sounding so confident.

Not who you asked, but I have the same result and it's still pending at that amount. FWIW.

Do you guys enter port-in information before or after activating the sim/phone? I haven't received my SIMs yet (tomorrow), but Sprint called me to ask about port-in information? Their reason is to have it ready before activations. Should I wait or give them the information now?

In my case, Sprint haven't relocked my phones (yet). I have 2 Sprint S9+, originally on Sprint and unlocked by Sprint, then switched to a GSM prepaid, then switched back to Sprint free plan, then switched to another GSM prepaid. The phones are still unlocked now.
