Sprint WILL RELOCK your unlocked device as they did to mine. Not a single incident as friends and family of mine got their RELOCKED to the sprint network. We all had unlocked devices when signed up. Now all our phones are locked to Sprint. Thats illegal.
You have to stay for 90 days to keep the $300 and their unlock policy is 60 days, so while I agree they should not be re-locking phones, you can get it re-unlocked after 60 days and before your 90 day requirement is fulfilled.
Thanks! Ordered the BYOD Amazon SIM on Monday and was sitting on whether to switch my Iphone over. I felt a little dirty about going back to Sprint. I left them 4 years ago (after 18 years as a customer) and said I'd never go back.

Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.

I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

I had a pleasant experience up until I found my iPhone unexpectedly locked too. They immediately said they would unlock it, but they had a slow/disorganized process.
Mine still relocked to the sprint system. and it has been more than 3 months after I switched to other carrier.

is yours unlocked now?

You think they are going to give you free hardware or rebates so you can leave in 30 days? People are 😄 funny. Stay away from Sprint and read the fine print next time.
True that!

Cashback is 80 per activation, if I order 2 lines in one order, is it 80 or 160 cashback? Does no credit check new acct qualify for 50 referral bonus?
BF=$80 per line (better option)

TCB=$80 per account (misleadingly, it will initially show per line, then adjust in few days to per account)

You do get Sprint referral bonus for no credit check account—which is per line. However, referral does not work if referrer is on free Sprint BYOD plan.

Thanks, but they already pulled my credit hard, even before I pressed submit button. I will submit it later, but do they pull twice if I redo the process. Right now I am more worried about if they would rip us off of 300 as well. Hearing some bad sprint behavior here...

The proof is simple: no signal when you put SIM from another carrier! LMAO

Well, I would hope to find out without having to go through all that.

The moment they pull your credit, they assign an account number to the SSN that was used. I believe any subsequent transactions using that SSN are always tied to that assigned account without further pulls, but I have no personal experience. One cannot have multiple Sprint accounts tied to the same SSN.

One way to know you are within the no credit check process is that at no point will you be asked for your SSN, only DOB is required.

Thanks, any experience with delays or not getting qualified later for their gift card. It's big amount and at least 3 months process. And I am hearing bad reviews here

You'd think there would be an easier way, but I have yet to learn of one. Carriers like to keep this locking nonsense all black box. We should catch up to the simplicity of rest of world and mandate all phones always be unlocked.

I would not worry to much about the re-locking issue. It was rare, and has become rarer, but obviously PIA for those impacted.

The best option is Unlimited Plus, which for limited time is available for same $100/5 lines as Unlimited Basic.

After merger, T-Mobile and Sprint may launch new plans as soon as next month. There is no guarantee that Kickstart or something similar will continue to exist. However, you should be able to change plans to whatever is then available, if you desire.
I was trying to change from 4 kickstarters on one of the unlimited plans. This was less than a week ago. They said no but they were willing to transfer me to another department under some sort of satisfaction guaranty (since my account was only about 8 days old at that point). Eventually, that other department offered to cancel my account and since I had ported in the numbers they would remain "alive." Then I could just open up a new account. However, I didn't want to be in unchartered territory (we don't know if the promotion will work with those proceedings).

If you have followed offer terms to the letter—never been prior Sprint customer, telephone number/s never before on Sprint, account opened with credit check—you should have no problems, and even if you do, are well-positioned to seek justice through Sprint or FCC.

Many problems on SD relate to people working unusual angles, stacking, creative interpretation of rules, etc. Those who play that game know that it's hit or miss, but still sometimes throw tantrums that can give lay folk the impression that things are not working, when in fact they are working exactly as laid out.

I agree with you that "irregular" procedures, like this keeping lines alive business, have high potential of screwing up rebates. Your decision was smart.
