Sprint WILL RELOCK your unlocked device as they did to mine. Not a single incident as friends and family of mine got their RELOCKED to the sprint network. We all had unlocked devices when signed up. Now all our phones are locked to Sprint. Thats illegal.
You have to stay for 90 days to keep the $300 and their unlock policy is 60 days, so while I agree they should not be re-locking phones, you can get it re-unlocked after 60 days and before your 90 day requirement is fulfilled.
Thanks! Ordered the BYOD Amazon SIM on Monday and was sitting on whether to switch my Iphone over. I felt a little dirty about going back to Sprint. I left them 4 years ago (after 18 years as a customer) and said I'd never go back.

Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.

I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

Thx Tux! Since I can't touch my unlock S20 phone, can I still swap my unlock iPhone 11 Pro to my old account if I have another Sprint unlock phone available? I recently upgraded a phone (Pixel 3XL) and paid in full on my son's line under my current account. My plan is to cancel that line after I unlock the 3XL phone. So can I do the following changes once my 3XL is unlocked?

BEFORE the phone swap
Acct #1:
  • Line 1 - S20
  • Line 2 - 3XL
Acct #2 - new acct for $300 promo
  • Line 1 - Ip11 Pro
AFTER the Phone Swap
Acct #1:
  • Line 1 - ip11 pro and put S20 away. Will that impact my S20 monthly credit for not using the phone?
  • Line 2 - 3XL phone unlocked and line cancelled
Acct #2:
  • Line 1 - 3XL. Am I still qualified for the $300 rebate?
Quote from Tuxedo1 :
Yes. S20 needs to be unlocked for swap. If you request for unlock, you need to pay remaining amount along with ETF( Based on Sprint T&C). IMO, don't touch S20 now and keep iP11 with new account until $300 card.

I signed up for 5 lines. I am about to port in 3 numbers ported in from T-Mobile, and 2 numbers from Sprint free plan (different SSN) ported out last week. I aware that I am not going to get the $300 for the 2 Old Sprint numbers. But will it affect the rebate for the other 3 TM numbers? Any guess? Thanks.

Do you guys enter port-in information before or after activating the sim/phone? I haven't received my SIMs yet (tomorrow), but Sprint called me to ask about port-in information? Their reason is to have it ready before activations. Should I wait or give them the information now?
You are going to have to wait until you receive your SIM cards. Unless you have a device that accepts eSIM then you can do it right away. Most flagship phones like iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, XS, XS Max, and XR, and the Google Pixel 3, 3 XL, 4 and 4 XL, and the Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+, and Z Flip are eSIM compatible.

In my case, Sprint haven't relocked my phones (yet). I have 2 Sprint S9+, originally on Sprint and unlocked by Sprint, then switched to a GSM prepaid, then switched back to Sprint free plan, then switched to another GSM prepaid. The phones are still unlocked now.
I'm not sure how it works, I just know that in the past, my unlocked Sprint phones have always been relocked when I reactivate them on Sprint. This time my LG G8's didnt, but they may originally be ATT, Tmo, or even factory unlocked, I'm not sure.

I'm fairly sure they can only lock Sprint phones.

Yes you can use the IMEI of the phone you dont have with you and swap phones later. Me personally, I'd feel better the quicker I activate a phone, rather than leave a line active but no phone working on it. I'm just paranoid about rebates/referrals, etc.

It shouldn't. At checkout it will say if the line qualifies for $300.

I had two old sprint devices that i wanted to use but at checkout i noticed there was no *Switch to Sprint + Get $300 attached to the line. I couldn't figure out why until i decided to switch those devices and found finally got the *Switch to Sprint + Get $300. Not sure if it was a glitch but proceeded to go along with it since I wanted the $300 LOL.

Mine still relocked to the sprint system. and it has been more than 3 months after I switched to other carrier.

is yours unlocked now?
My first two were unlocked in a reasonable time (5-7 days). For some reason, my third line took over 21 days.

I always had the boxes to enter the port-in info during my 3 orders, so I provided the info then.
Line 1. Had a BYOD Moto E6 and BYOD SIM, SIM was activated with port-in about10 minutes after submitting my order.
Line 2. Had to wait a few days for the pre-owned phone to arrive from Sprint. Called the number in the instructions and the rep activated the line with the port-in.
Line 3. Tried to open an account to bring in a new Sprint-branded LG Stylo 4+ bought on HSN but the online order crashed after submitting. Had to call a sales rep to do it from scratch.

Sprint seems to relock some Sprint branded phones (but not all of them) and some unlocked phones (depending on where you bought them) -- most problems come from phones purchased at Best Buy since BB has a flex activation policy for their phone inventory

Factory unlocked Galaxy S10e (purchased from Samsung website) -- online account shows "Galaxy S10e Open Market" and my phone is still unlocked

Factory unlocked Moto E6 (got it from Visible) -- online account shows "Moto e6 Open Market" and my phone is still unlocked

Factory unlocked Moto G4 (Amazon Prime version) -- phone is still unlocked

Have a Sprint Galaxy S8 that was properly unlocked after 2mo service and currently using it on ATT. I'll just use the IMEI to add a 4th line on my account -- I don't think Sprint will relock the phone but I'll play it safe by not inserting the sim (need the phone for ATT)

I don't use iphones so i wouldn't know how to eSIM is activated on apple devices. I got a Pixel 3 XL and when i call Sprint porting dept they took care of activating an eSIM on their end, all i had to do was restart the phone, didn't need to buy a SIM card. The option to delete the eSIM I received is available on Mobile settings so when i decide to port out, all i got to do is delete it LOL

Some say if you buy a device from Sprint you have to wait 50 days per policy to have the device unlock. If the device is unlock it should work anywhere. I rarely travel outside US so i don't know how it would work if you travel outside US on the Sprint.network
