Sprint WILL RELOCK your unlocked device as they did to mine. Not a single incident as friends and family of mine got their RELOCKED to the sprint network. We all had unlocked devices when signed up. Now all our phones are locked to Sprint. Thats illegal.
You have to stay for 90 days to keep the $300 and their unlock policy is 60 days, so while I agree they should not be re-locking phones, you can get it re-unlocked after 60 days and before your 90 day requirement is fulfilled.
Thanks! Ordered the BYOD Amazon SIM on Monday and was sitting on whether to switch my Iphone over. I felt a little dirty about going back to Sprint. I left them 4 years ago (after 18 years as a customer) and said I'd never go back.

Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.

I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

Exact Sprint terms are: "previously activated phone numbers may not be eligible for this offer."

Interpret that as you like, but clearly the foolproof option is to go with phone numbers that have never been activated on Sprint.
Awesome thanks for the reply - not worth the risk as i need the phone numbers we had it for 20 years. New numbers is not an option for me so i think next move will be visible 4 lines $100

am on verizon pre-paid no more refill card from flebay $40 for $25 it was good while it lasted but it time to look elsewhere.

Thanks

Visible is great! Excellent service at straightforward price with Party Pay. I was with them before porting to Sprint.

I agree i do have 5 weeks before i need to make the move. $300 MC would have been nice for each line with $100 for all 4 lines.

You moved to take advantage of the $300 MC ? is it first time for you ? or you are using new number and then google voice number to forward ?

If I switch from Kickstarter to Unlimited Plus do I get the additional $10 off/line for BYOD?
I tried to switch and they told me that I would have to cancel the lines & then they could start service again. LMK what they say to you when you inquire.

You can use Boost locked mobiles in Sprint. I ordered two Boost iP6+ and iP7 last year and used both on free BYOD plan until 1st week of March. Only catch is - when they ask where did you get this phone. If it is from Boost, tell the truth and they will clear prepaid lock on that mobile and activate post paid flag. My two phones were activated in 20 minutes.
Can I use any other Sprint MVNO phones that are locked? Tracphone is the one that I have in mind.

Is the general consensus now that google voice numbers are fine to use for porting? I need a couple more numbers and GV seems like the easiest way to do it.

The $300 offer is a potential $1,000+ moneymaker, so couldn't pass that up.

I use Google Voice for my permanent numbers; gives me the flexibility to decouple phone number continuity (important) from phone plan shopping, where being a new customer always gets the best rates/deals/offers. I highly recommend this strategy, if you're up for it.

Yes, they are seen as landline numbers by the Sprint system, so by definition never been on Sprint Mobile.

Is the phone currently active on Tracfone? If not, try the phone IMEI / MEID on Sprint compatibility checker [sprint.com]. YMMV, occasionally, this has the effect of making it valid for Sprint service.

Tracfone is part of America Movil so won't accept Sprint cards while locked. Only Boost and defunct Virgin Mobile phones were possible on Sprint in a few cases.

Do you guys know if it is okay to BYOD a phone that was previously on the Sprint network or maybe prepaid Sprint network but I'm porting in a phone number from a different carrier such as Verizon?

Going to be doing 2 lines here so hoping I get $300 x 2 from this promotion with cash back and referral bonus (only applies once). I wonder what site would yield the most cash back since TCB is only doing 1 line.
Phone previously on Sprint network not a problem. Just make sure phone number comes from another carrier and that number has never previously been on Sprint.

People have reported tracking fails with TCB last few days, use BF instead.

I did this for 4 of my family's primary lines. Three of the numbers used to be with sprint more than a year ago. So am a bit concerned.

Curious since numbers are routinely reused what if a different customer was with sprint say 5 years ago and had a number which he ported out to another provider, then cancelled line and the number was reassigned to me by other carrier. If sprint uses this as a reason to disqualify then it would be a mess.

For people that opened up multiple accounts (in same name), did you submit the "web form" for the $300 gift card for all of your accounts in one go? Or did you submit 1 "web form" for each account?

This is a ridiculous requirement. Even if I get a new number from a provider there is no guarantee that number was not activated with sprint by another customer 10 years ago...my guess is they are trying to filter out the folks who leave and come back within a short period to take advantage of the offer.

Anyone is free to develop their own speculation of Sprint's definitions and terms—how tight or loose they may be—however, it is indubitably clear that the safest option is to take the terms literally, especially since one has to pay-in quite a bit before the payoff is known.

Perceptive guess, but what constitutes this period is the crucial question—and 90 days from now is too late to find out.
