Sprint WILL RELOCK your unlocked device as they did to mine. Not a single incident as friends and family of mine got their RELOCKED to the sprint network. We all had unlocked devices when signed up. Now all our phones are locked to Sprint. Thats illegal.
You have to stay for 90 days to keep the $300 and their unlock policy is 60 days, so while I agree they should not be re-locking phones, you can get it re-unlocked after 60 days and before your 90 day requirement is fulfilled.
Thanks! Ordered the BYOD Amazon SIM on Monday and was sitting on whether to switch my Iphone over. I felt a little dirty about going back to Sprint. I left them 4 years ago (after 18 years as a customer) and said I'd never go back.

Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.

I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

Thanks for the specific data points—and repped.
I see those phones were all initially sourced from Sprint. My crowd has always used non-carrier phones, which perhaps accounts for divergence in our experience.
yes thats exactly the difference. I think many unlocked Sprint phones will relock whenever they are activated on Sprint. Personally I dont care because it doesnt matter for this deal as we will be able to unlock in 50 days but have to be on Sprint at least 90 days.

Were your Galaxies factory unlocked? Meaning they were un-branded phones to begin with.
no they were Sprint branded. Sprint wont lock a factory unlocked phone. I also had a Pixel 3a that never locked while it was active on Sprint.

Though the main BYOD page still shows 300 offer but when I go to place the final order I do not see the offer details today like I had seen them couple of days back. Hopefully it does not matter as long as I am bringing in a device and a line.

  1. Start at BF cashback website
  2. Click Sprint link-out from BF
  3. When you land at Sprint, click magnifying glass top-right of screen and search for "Tribute Empire"
  4. You get three search results, click on middle one, which should be $49 one that is in-stock
  5. Then, just follow checkout process and select a plan that indicates "Switch To Sprint + Get $300" under "Show More Features and Offers"
Important that you start from BF, because that is the source of $125 that makes the $49 phone "free".

Can't find any plan that indicates "Switch To Sprint + Get $300"

You are right, I see it in Firefox and not in Chrome where I already placed the order - not sure what to do now

i think mine got locked trying to insert to another phone so as not to lose the sim.. i never plan to use the sim now but did the locked option bar me from making it active and get my rebate.. what option do i have as i activate based on imei of phone which is not with me and i dont have access to account without entering otp. how can i ensure my sim is active..
Entering the phone IMEI AND SIM info should had been done during the order process. Best thing to do is call Sprint letting them know you entered the wrong info and need it corrected. You will need basic information for them to access your account, like name under account, DOB, and/or PIN.

I would hold on switching until you see the offer. Sprint website can be a PIA. Try using a different device or computer if possible

So its not browser issue but it disappears as soon as I sign in to my Sprint account that was created yesterday when I ported my first line. So that's a question - if this offer is also valid for current customers as long as they bring in a line?

The offer is for new customers only. I would not attempt it with an existing account.

"New customers bringing their own device & porting a number to Sprint can receive a $300 Prepaid MasterCard with eligible plan."

Call whom .. customer service department or account services department?

And tell them to accept what?
Never heard of this happening with sprint..
Call Account Services team and have them accept this offer on your acct and then you can add a line and qualify for promo. That's what did for my paid acct in January.

If the phone was unlocked before, you can get them unlocked instantly. I did that since the unlock code is already populated in the tool that they use to push the code OTA to the mobile.
