Sprint WILL RELOCK your unlocked device as they did to mine. Not a single incident as friends and family of mine got their RELOCKED to the sprint network. We all had unlocked devices when signed up. Now all our phones are locked to Sprint. Thats illegal.
You have to stay for 90 days to keep the $300 and their unlock policy is 60 days, so while I agree they should not be re-locking phones, you can get it re-unlocked after 60 days and before your 90 day requirement is fulfilled.
Thanks! Ordered the BYOD Amazon SIM on Monday and was sitting on whether to switch my Iphone over. I felt a little dirty about going back to Sprint. I left them 4 years ago (after 18 years as a customer) and said I'd never go back.

Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.

I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

Call whom .. customer service department or account services department?

And tell them to accept what?
Never heard of this happening with sprint..
Call Account Services team and have them accept this offer on your acct and then you can add a line and qualify for promo. That's what did for my paid acct in January.

So that's a question - if this offer is also valid for current customers as long as they bring in a line?
Well, that's a $300 question, and the answer will be given in about 90 days Smilie

The offer is for new customers only. I would not attempt it with an existing account.

"New customers bringing their own device & porting a number to Sprint can receive a $300 Prepaid MasterCard with eligible plan."
Thanks, so how can I create a new account with same name? Just order without signing into my account that should allow me to create a new one and setup online registration with a new email? Please advise

Crazy what hassle people will go through to get a couple hundred bucks. Time is money, for me at least maybe not for everyone.

lovely answer....retired or not...seems like most of us have nothing but time on our hands for last ~10 days and next ~30 days...give or take 1 day or 2

It's best to use a completely different real name and email address (same street address is fine). You can use a friend/relative name (with their permission of course) as long as you know enough about their personal info, in case you have to call in and the rep asks you the four ID Verification questions for that person.

I haven't done this myself but my understanding is that you can have both a credit-check and non-credit-check account under the same name. So, if you previously created your existing account without going through the credit check, this time sign up again (sign out first obviously) but do the credit check or vice versa if you did the credit check before.

Use a different email address.

To be extra safe, I'd also use a different credit card so that you can try to keep the accounts totally separate. Probably not necessary but I'd just be paranoid that they might try to merge them. Other people in this thread mentioned that they used a different credit card at sign up but then updated it to the same CC on both accounts later.

Oh to make the deal sweeter, you can also try referring yourself. Send a Sprint referral from your existing account to the new email address and make sure you register it before placing your new account order.

For me in Kansas, taxes & fees plus surcharges are about $6 on the $35 Kickstart plan. Someone in L.A. reported close to $10. See attachment.

Thanks for the specific data points—and repped.
I see those phones were all initially sourced from Sprint. My crowd has always used non-carrier phones, which perhaps accounts for divergence in our experience.
That seems like it could be significant...I am dealing with factory unlocked phones, I never buy anything from a carrier. I'd find it hard to believe Sprint could be multiple times locking a (factory) unlocked phone, but is that what people are claiming to be happening?

ONE vocal poster claimed so. The rest, including me, don't have problems with having our factory-unlocked phones locked up by Sprint.

My experience with sprint locking phones is it will show as locked in Ting and other BYOD checkers, but in fact the phone itself still unlocked. If I switch sims it will work with other networks.

Hi, Guys. I was.interested in buying a few more phones for this promotion. There are Sprint locked Motorola's phones on eBay in really good condition for $30. I would need to have a number before I came into Sprint. If I purchased an att prepaid number on eBay and since I don't need to put the att sim card into the phone. do you think I would qualify for the promotion? TIA
