Sprint WILL RELOCK your unlocked device as they did to mine. Not a single incident as friends and family of mine got their RELOCKED to the sprint network. We all had unlocked devices when signed up. Now all our phones are locked to Sprint. Thats illegal.
You have to stay for 90 days to keep the $300 and their unlock policy is 60 days, so while I agree they should not be re-locking phones, you can get it re-unlocked after 60 days and before your 90 day requirement is fulfilled.
Thanks! Ordered the BYOD Amazon SIM on Monday and was sitting on whether to switch my Iphone over. I felt a little dirty about going back to Sprint. I left them 4 years ago (after 18 years as a customer) and said I'd never go back.

Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.

I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

You have at least 50 days from when payment was due.

I will find out next week. My visible payment was due early march so i'm attempting to port that number after a month. I have read someone in the thread was able to port out after the payment was due. Although i recall it was maybe few days.

My port out from Visible was after my account had expired a couple weeks earlier. HTH

Where did you get the phone? Was it used elsewhere? Could the SIM in the phone be the SIM Sprint has in the system?

There is no association between the port in number and the SIM. Totally separated when it ports.

That is a problem for me because I used an ebay ported number and I was expecting that I will buy a sim card but I never had the option until the confirmation email shows a sim card. Does this mean that the sim card in the phone (whatever it is) will be overritten? Or the Sim card that correspond to the phone from the port in number I received from ebay will be overritten. Sorry if these are silly questions, but I am kind of lost.

Ya thats what I thought... the GV dialer. I haven't used that in years, been using Hangouts which doesn't have that feature. But I don't ever use my mobile number so it didn't matter.
Hangout has a dialer too. Albeit you have to install it separately from playstore. Once installed, it integrates into the standard hangout app.

Any problem doing it this way?

I was with Sprint, on free year from Oct 2018 to Oct 2019 and just paid full price until Feb when we ported out 2 lines to Mint. Service was awful, so we went to Cricket/ATT but don't good coverage either. So we are switching back to Sprint either way for our 2 lines, 45 days is today.

So if we get mastercards for our two numbers, great, but I'm not assuming we will get it. So I want to try to get some $300 cards. Want to keep the $35/month plans.

Can we buy 2 of the $49 LG phones (Tribute i think?) on Sprint for overnight delivery on Tuesday, buy 2 cheap $10 phones from Target on Tracfone and do $20 plan, on which Target is offering a $30 Target card for activation. So net cost $0, and port those new numbers over to the 2 LG phones on Tuesday

Cost- $100 for the 2 Sprint phones, and $70x3 for 3-months of service on them = $310 to get $600 in gift cards in 3 months. That way if we get 4 $300 mastercards great, but if not we still get $600.

Do I need to have the phone number/account number/port info at the time I place my order on sprint tomorrow? If I do then I will go to Target first thing in the morning? Kinda wondering if it's worth all the time and trouble to hope to net a few hundred extra months away, and just consider myself lucky if our original phone numbers previously on sprint get the giftcards.
Mixed orders of BYOD and buying devices isnt working, have to go with all BYOD or all buy.

You dont need to have port info when placing the order if doing the 5 line orders but others have reported that port info is asked for if doing 1 line orders.

Yes I know about the dialer and I have it installed, but don't see any additional feature in the dialer. As I said, I don't use that feature anyway, so I never looked for it when Google pushed for the upgrade from GV to Hangouts a few years back.

edog is right, I was thinking how I do things. I always have deactivated sprint phones in drawers ready to be used.

Go to settings and see if your ICCID matches what Sprint has. If it doesnt, you need a sim card. ICCID's cannot be written to a sim card by end users like us.

You are not using any of your existing phones?

I was just about to pull the trigger on x2 Kickstarter lines with BYOD, however…

..I'm now just tempted to buy 5 of the cheapest pre-owned phones from Sprint on the Unlimited Plus plan along with the BF $125 per phone CB. I wasn't following all the details on going that route ... so a few questions:

a.) Sprint's pre-owned phones do not include phone numbers correct? I'll still need to buy 5 phone numbers (for ex. ATT on eBay) to port the phones in with?
b.) Can purchase of 5 pre-owned phones and Unlimited Plus be done reliably with the No Credit Check option?
c.) Alternately, anyone know which credit reporting agency Sprint uses? I don't foresee a problem if I need to go with the credit check route, however I'd have to put in a request for the credit reporting agencies to unfreeze my reports, which may take additional time, which is running out.
d.) Is there any way to use my Moto G7 on any of the newly registered 5 line Unlimited Plus accounts? Can I swap out one of the cheap LG Empire/Tribute (or whatever) phones after the service is up and running, or do those phones need to used for the full 90 days to qualify for the promo?

Thanks again deal meisters!

Some of us have interpreted the rules to mean that even if you port out and port back right away, Sprint will consider that a number that was previously active on Sprint. There's probably a minimum number of days the number has to be gone, possibly 45.

Either port to GV, or port to a cheap prepaid carrier that isnt a Sprint MVNO, or maybe park your number at number barn.
How does the cheap prepaid carrier work? Won't sprint recognize my device and number once I try to port back in even under difference account holder?

Any android works. But beware some short code might not go to your Google voice. Such as bank security code, etc.. thats the main reason I stop using gv and port my main number back with the carrier.
They used to not work. Now, I receive all of my bank's short codes.

When was the last time you tried?

Sounds like you have a good plan. Don't forget to use a referral if you are new to Sprint.

I activated two G7 phones with no issue. But it was using new sims from Sprint. I might ask that question in a chat session with Sprint.

Is your account no credit check? When I called the rep said it has to be credit check account to get $100/5 lines. When I chatted the rep said I will have to pay $160/5 lines because this promo is only valid when you first add 5 lines together. I'm not sure what to follow.
It was credit check and that having to get all 5 at one time does seem to be required.

LOL. I don't think there are any Sprint plans that offer 180GB hotspot. The most is 100GB with Unlimited Premium. The KS plan has 20GB hotspot temporarily only for the corona virus. Please don't use your mobile to replace home internet, that screws up the unlimited plans for everyone!
