Sprint WILL RELOCK your unlocked device as they did to mine. Not a single incident as friends and family of mine got their RELOCKED to the sprint network. We all had unlocked devices when signed up. Now all our phones are locked to Sprint. Thats illegal.
You have to stay for 90 days to keep the $300 and their unlock policy is 60 days, so while I agree they should not be re-locking phones, you can get it re-unlocked after 60 days and before your 90 day requirement is fulfilled.
Thanks! Ordered the BYOD Amazon SIM on Monday and was sitting on whether to switch my Iphone over. I felt a little dirty about going back to Sprint. I left them 4 years ago (after 18 years as a customer) and said I'd never go back.

Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.

I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

So does that mean I need to have all my port-in numbers ready before completing check out?

There's a 'Number Setup' stage of the checkout process and I can't progress from there to 'Delivery and Payment' without either a.) entering the numbers I want to transfer, or b.) get a new number. There's no possibility to check out without either transferring the numbers or getting new numbers.
I thought the port in process was performed at a later date??
the simple answer is, get your port numbers prepared before ordering. Stop overthinking everything.

Because each credit check inquiry reduces credit score slightly, and people wanting to buy new homes etc, want to maximize that score.
Also, some people already have the Sprint credit check account, so they have no alternative but to use no-credit-check when trying to open a second account. Sprint allows only one credit-check account.
Gotcha. Figured, but just curious. Again, though, I still had to enter my SS number before I could check out. Not sure why, but whatever.

somehow you switched over to the credit check path. This happened to me when my payment was declined and for some reason I went back to look at the phones in my cart, when I tried to check out again I was asked for SS#. I ended up closing the incognito window and starting over.

In addition to what was said above, just leave it the default 999-99-9999 for no credit check and it will accept it.

Thread wisdom suggests this probably due to intermittent system glitch. Also, when porting from traditional postpaid accounts on AT&T, Verizon, etc, SSN is required to complete the porting procedure, so maybe this is why they want to pre-capture the information?

Ultimately, we have not heard of anyone that has gone through no-credit-check+SSN, actually receive a hard pull.

My wife is currently on Sprint with a grandfathered plan, $25 a month for 1G. What would be the best way for her to get in on this deal? Knowing how great Sprint's customer service (sarcasm), I'm guessing she would need to leave Sprint first and create a new account?

There are two paths for making the purchase, one doesn't need credit check. The link is in the Wiki, you might have used that option.
Right you are. Thanks. Smilie

Done deal!
Up all night with the dregs of a case of COVID-19 nastiness, and it's time to hit the sack.

So after I receive the phones I just port them in, and activate them, make a few calls to legitimate the lines, and after that's complete I fill out the $300 promo dealio ... and wait.

Thanks to everyone for all the pointers!

when I did the no credit check about a week ago, there was still field for SSN in one of the last pages. I just left it the default 999-99-9999

1G? As in 2.4 Kbps? EEK!EEK!EEK!EEK!EEK!

You're going to need a different phone number. Generate one from google voice, or buy one from ebay. Then come back to sprint in your name, no credit check. Could also do her name no credit check but I figure, why take a chance?

The most important aspect of this deal is using phone numbers that have not previously been on Sprint.
Can your wife live without her grandfathered number, because you will either have to 1) abandon it, or 2) move it to Google Voice for $20, which will be slightly more complicated for the wife to use.

If I can sign up with no credit check, I do no credit check.
It asks for SS for your previous carrier information. If you port from pre-paid you can just leave that field blank.
