Sprint WILL RELOCK your unlocked device as they did to mine. Not a single incident as friends and family of mine got their RELOCKED to the sprint network. We all had unlocked devices when signed up. Now all our phones are locked to Sprint. Thats illegal.
You have to stay for 90 days to keep the $300 and their unlock policy is 60 days, so while I agree they should not be re-locking phones, you can get it re-unlocked after 60 days and before your 90 day requirement is fulfilled.
Thanks! Ordered the BYOD Amazon SIM on Monday and was sitting on whether to switch my Iphone over. I felt a little dirty about going back to Sprint. I left them 4 years ago (after 18 years as a customer) and said I'd never go back.

Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.

I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

IIRC, PayPal will do a 1 dollar test charge on the card to validate it, so a $1 test charge + $50 item will not go through with a prepaid card that has balance of $50,
Thanks for the info. I got a couple of alerts for $1 charge and was wondering what they were.

You didn't need to have it active on Sprint for 90 days to port over?
The phone is still active on Sprint. But it can be used concurrently on AT&T as well (with a different phone number). I just swap their SIMs when I need to.

Here's the link to the AT&T Deal: https://slickdeals.net/f/14021282-att-250-prepaid-visa-card-with-port-in-of-new-line-and-activation-on-any-postpaid-plan?page=93#commentsBox

Although I expect to make money with it, I don't really recommend it because:
* The number of max $250 GCs per account had been reduced from 10 to 2.
* AT&T cancelled about 50% of orders with a silly explanation "We couldn't verify this order 23-xxxxxxxxxxxxx really came from you. For your security, we canceled it", even when people had called AT&T E-comm to confirm that they placed the order.
* They will do a hard pull on your credit file. If your order is cancelled, you wasted a hard pull for nothing.
* Lots of billing errors (order for one plan with multiple lines got split into multiple plans causing higher costs, bills not generated, autopay credit not applied, etc) which require calling or chatting to get them straightened out.
* No clear indication that the $250 GC offer was applied to your order. Have to rely on a rep's words that it was applied.

I bought the Ebay GC on Paypal web site, and the alert showed Paypal was doing the $1 test charge. See attachment.

I'm not putting in any effort to debloat it, but after it was unlocked by Sprint I'm using it as a BYOD phone for the AT&T deal.
Do you have steps to unlock does it have to be done through Sprint Chat/Calling only.

Does anyone know which entity requires that some money has to remain in the GC and not drained completely to zero? It's such a weird requirement. Will you ever be able to use it completely?
Today I wanted to buy an item on Ebay that's about $75. I couldn't checkout using multiple GCs, so I added two to my Paypal account and use them to buy Ebay GCs. When I tried to buy a $50 Ebay GC with a Sprint GC, it kept failing. Then I remember someone mentioning that you have to leave some money in the card. So I changed the amount to $49 (had to be a whole dollar amount) and it went through. I used the 2nd Sprint GC to buy a $26 Ebay GC, then used both Ebay GCs to pay for my item.
Add the GC to you Paypal account in Wallet as a New Debit/Credit Card and send money to friends (wife) using the GC. Had to transfer exactly $48.30 to my wife's paypal then transfer the money directly to wife bank account or add your bank account in wifes account. Thats what i did instead of buying other GCs.

If you're asking about the preowned LG Tribute bought on Sprint.com:
* Sprint automatically unlocks it on their end after 51 (?) days.
* On your phone, go into System Updates. Initially the UICC Unlock info will say "This phone is locked to a Sprint SIM only".
* Touch the UICC Unlock and it will try to unlock the phone. If it's successful, the phone will reboot, and the UICC Unlock will now say "The device is unlocked for any SIM card".
If it's unsuccessful, and your phone had been in service for more than 51 days, Chat with a Sprint rep and the rep will pass you on to a tech that will do the unlock on their end.

When you transfer as money, Paypal charges $0.30 + 2.9%. I wanted to buy something on Ebay anyway, so I bought Ebay GCs for no extra charge.

3.4% is a bit stiff if you are transferring several hundred dollars.

There is no entity that requires some money to be left on the card. This is simply based on experience. People buy Gift Cards at Staples and Office Depot (most of them by MetaBank same as these rebate cards) and then they liquidate for MO at WM. Many people reported issues with Mastercard Giftcard when they tried using it at Walmart and use the full amt for MO. This doesn't happen always, but often enough not to repeat this mistake. I always leave a penny or more so that the card remains active, doesn't run into the above issue and much easier to check transactions if the card has non-zero balance.

Thanks and rep! Passed the 50/51 days last week and want to unlock them or at least make sure they are unlock but haven't had the chance to unbox them and charge them LOL

I agree. I have enough expenses to use up about $3400 in GCs from Sprint and AT&T without converting them to cash.
