Awesome system. I've had this since December and it's been great. People who get this right now, be aware that there is a problem with a newly released firmware that is causing headaches for lots of people. Netgear is aware and is working on a fix. This has been an issue since the 8th of this month.

PSA: Apparently this is a Costco-special version, and not as good as the e.g. Best Buy version. This is the 842, not the 852 sold at Best Buy. AX5700 vs AX6000 at Best Buy.

Kinda sad they had to gimp this model (feel free to read the big negative review on Costco for all the deets).

So would you recommend getting one and sitting on it, or waiting it out?

That's a great price and I would jump on it. I bought it at their full price. The only difference between this one and the retail one they sell at Best Buy is the 2.4Ghz band can transmit at a higher rate but real world, you won't even utilize that band for most of your devices. They both run exactly the same firmware.

What? 2.4Ghz is used by WAY more devices in the home than 5Ghz, because range is much more important. e.g. Nest cameras, Nest doorbells etc, wireless printers - to mention but a few.

Yes, but they don't need the speed that was slowed down on the Costco version. I also have the same as you and everything works great. I just meant that most everything that requires high speed for streaming or data transfer will rely on the 5ghz band which is exactly the same on both units.

I hear you, but I still don't like that this is gimped in any way. The prices are still astronomical, and I'd expect to see some big price drops in the next year or two. Very, very few devices support WiFi 6. I have around 80 WiFi devices in my house connected to my RBK53, and the only one that supports WiFi 6 is my iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Sure, it's not wifi 6, but it's also quite a bit less expensive and wifi 6 is not widely adopted yet anyway. I bought a set about a month or so ago and have been pretty happy with it so far.

I'm a gadget junkie so I always have to get the newest and greatest. I bought the Nighthawk they put out last year but after using it for a week, returned it due to horrible range and just bad design when it hangs on the wall and the antennas just kinda flop forward since they're only held in place by gravity. But yeah, might as well wait and see what happens.

Yeah just not convinced. There's nothing more annoying that flakey WiFi, whether it's flakey once a day or once a month. With so few WiFi6 devices, I'm happy to wait this out, and you can count me as a tech addict, too.

$479.99 AX5700 2-pack vs $699.99 AX6000 2-pack, I would definitely pick the Costco one.... You only lose 300Mbps on 2.4G channel but save you $220. I only use 2.4 channel for only a few smart home devices, it's not a big deal for me at least. So far this is the cheapest flagship wifi 6 mesh router system that I've ever seen.

The issue isn't that it's gimped so much as they're still majorly overpriced. I'd highly recommend the RBK53. That's one router and two satellites - for $300. You'll get better range for one thing. Given there are so few WiFi6 clients out there you'd be nuts to buy this new set yet. Prices will drop exponentially and right now for most people the stable, tried and tested RBK53 set is the one you should buy.

Heck, the RBK52 set on eBay multiple times as a refurb has been $149 (Newegg). You really think it's worth paying over THREE times the price for this Costco set? No chance. No. Chance.

I recently picked up the M9 Delco and haven't been happy with download speeds. I have xfinifty GB and speeds are asking 300 down via WiFi. Would I see better speed with this set up? Thanks so much

Looking to upgrade my wifi system. Curently have a modem hooked up to a wifi wireless router located at one side of the house.
The issue is its spotty on the other end of the house. Will a mesh system be the best move or a wifi expander?
Wanted to get input from owners of this system and other mesh systems since I'm completely new to mesh wifi.
