So it looks like the 5500M competes with the mobile 1650. Probably a good gpu to pair with the 3750h.

It's in a class above the 1650 mobile. Nvidia really needs to put the 1650 super into mobile to compete with the RX5500M. It is nowhere near as fast as a 1660 ti mobile though. RX5500M kind of fills the big gap between the 1650 mobile and 1660 ti mobile right now.

While Amd is killing Intel in the Desktop arena right now will have to wait til 4000 series laptop cpus are out. Current mobile Amd offering have sub par performance per watt resulting in poor battery life.

Let's hope pricing will be below $800 mark for a gaming version rx5600 video spec) and beating the 3750h cpu spec

its about the same power as a GTX 1060 whch is about 20%+ faster than a 1650ti but about 20% slower than the 1660ti

The AMD video cards are still going to be behind in performance per watt metrics. Zen 3 systems with Nvidia GPUs like the Asus G14 & G15 will sell better and dispoint less. Those will be what build their marketshare and convince more manufacturers to source AMD.
