I'm on the fence about picking one of these up. Destiny 2 is literally the only videogame I play regularly, so this would allow me to play it on a bunch of different devices (I sold my PS4 where I normally play D2). I'm worried about whether my internet will be able to keep uo with this, though. Thanks for posting this deal.

Try GeForce Now. They have a free trial and you can get Destiny 2 for free on Steam. It works great on my Nvidia shield, but you don't need a Shield to use GeForce Now. I play Destiny 2 using it with an Xbox One controller and it streams at pretty much the highest settings at a solid 60 FPS at 1080p. No extra hardware needed.
While the idea of rebuying games is similar in execution to what consoles have had for years, I'm not willing to pay this much for a digital-only library for PC(!) games. It's not like I absolutely NEED to play my games WHEREVER I go, not to mention with the world as it is now, I'm not going anywhere anyway

I agree on trying GeForce Now. As a Stadia founder / current subscriber and a GeForce Now Founder, they're pretty similar in terms of performance but GeForce Now gets my recommendation.
Destiny 2 is my primary game that I play. I play mainly on Xbox but will play on Stadia / GFN from time to time.
GeForce Now will give you more people to play with. There's not a ton of people online in Stadia. Matchmaking has been painful for me on Stadia.
For anyone interest in gaming on the cloud, try GeForce Now before Stadia. It's free to get into and works with a lot of existing hardware with Steam titles. Even with the games that have left GeForce Now, there's still way more variety available there... and a bunch of stuff you can play for free.
If you have others who are getting on Stadia or you will use the Chromecast Ultra for more than just Stadia, then it might not be a bad deal to get Stadia.
Can someone make more sense of Stadia to me than the website; is the library included for $10/mo or are you just paying $10/mo for better sound and future free games? What are the game prices like, if not included?

There are free games that you can play only via the pro subscription (you would get 3 months here, then it is $10 per month). If you don't renew, you are dropped to the free plan where you can play any games that you purchased. Think of it as a way to play games without buying a console. The game list is limited right now at best but it is growing.
Game prices have been higher on here than on PS and XBOX but i was able to grab some good ones while on promo (via pro sub) that i am currently playing on the free version since i am waiting to jump back into pro down the road.

So right now the only game you get for $10/mo is Destiny 2? With more to follow each month? But the rest of the library is pay to play. $120/yr sounds steep unless these games coming out are solid games. D2 is fine, but it's also a budget title at this point. Are there other benefits I'm missing?

The free games you would get today are GYLT, D2, GRID, Metro Exodus, SteamWorld Dig 2, SteamWorld Quest: HOG, and Thumper.
The main advantages are gaming on the go on multiple devices (hardly a perk these days) and not having to install games or buy a console. AAA titles are announced for later in the year.

Got it. Thanks! Seems like I'm better off waiting for that library to get a little better and a little deeper. I like the idea, but yeah, the gaming on multiple devices isn't a huge perk to me at this time.
Says everyone who hasn't tried the service. The platform has been nothing but flawless for me.
This isn't really the point. The point is that this service sure seems doomed because Google has a track record of dumping projects and this service seems like it's already been sidelined in a lot of ways. They launched the service like a beta but didn't call it that. They didn't have any significant content lined up for it. Virtually no exclusive content exists and they just now announced they are forming studios to make exclusive content which means it won't be ready for years. Microsoft is also working on a competing service which lets you play the games you already own for free without needing to re-purchase them. And, of course, Sony has their service which has been decent but not taken off and has been around for years - so what Google is offering ends up being nothing really new, unique, and not much of a value either. I have heard good things about the service, but I don't know if that's enough in the end to save it from the rest of the mediocrity it provides. Perhaps Google throws a hail mary and makes it really cheap or provides something else really exciting to entice people in the near future.

Google also has a track record of project that do quite well. I would honestly rather be in their shoes than Sony's for the next handful of years. Consoles are not the future and it doesn't hurt that they were first to the market.
Do i think this is a beta? Yes. Do i think that they have a foundation for future success? Yes.
It all remains to be seen but to be able to play games in 4k without having to buy a system for the price that Microsoft and Sony just charge to be online is a perk in my opinion.
