^ This video is misleading. The black containers are NOT equal to the red boxes because the black containers are extremely narrow on the bottom - and servers are not filling to those containers to overflow/and being pushed down with the cover like it is being in that video.
Moreover, orange chicken is uneven in size so it is a terrible comparison. If they really want to show it being equal, they should use something like fried rice/weigh it.
When there are 5 containers, there is a significant loss.
The original red large boxes can definitely feed a family of 4 and leftovers; the black containers, however, is more like ordering 2 plates/feeding 2 adults.
There's a reason why Panda supposedly "ran out of red containers" and using these black containers because they know the black containers serve a lot less.
It's clearly a bait and switch advertising.
They're also limiting the entrees, removing such as "Beijing Beef" claiming they're only supporting the "best sellers", but that is also a complete lie and is not fooling anybody.
The real reason is Beijing beef takes more effort/cost to make, so they are cutting corners on this entire deal.
The red vs black thing is hilarious. Funny enough I received a red box and black take out both with the same contents of Orange Chicken, there was for sure more in the black take out portion

Their panda app is horrible though... Even though they say you can "favorite" an order, there is no way to access it; whoever designed or is in charge of the app is a real failure.
The survey for an additional menu item doesn't take very long and really increases the value and is something that I'm pretty sure can be done every time or at least I've done it multiple times on the same account without any issue, though I wonder if they read or listen to comments because the problems and issues I've brought up over years of surveys are still problematic and some of them are probably costing them a lot of business.
