Just switched to YoutubeTV streaming on Xfinity, bringing my own equipment, which miraculously has just about every channel I really want, to which I added HBO and Showtime. The free month of Showtime is about to expire, so if, when I get home, I find out I'm eligible . . . You're my new best friend!
Maybe I should get that free box after all.
Even though I'll be switching in a couple of months...
Xfinity Stream is an app and this content is available through this app. I know the Xfinity Flex is a streaming device. I am assuming all the content available through the Stream app is also available through the Flex device but I am not 100% sure since I don't have the device.
Thanks for the heads up, OP! Rumor confirmed & TU
Showtime and Epix free for Xfinity customers (I only have Internet service) until April 19. See attached screenshot.
Has anyone tried getting this with the Xfinity Roku App? I'll give it a shot in a few hours when once I get home from work.
Currently getting Showtime and TMC free through DISH preview. But I think that expires April 6th. A couple more weeks might give me enough time to get through Homeland.
Does anyone know how to watch this on TV? Stream app limits screensharing or Chromecast. Any other means to watch on TV?
For me the answer is NO (i.e. can't watch on TV) with only Internet service, and an older computer.
1. The Xfinity Beta app requires Streaming service, so it won't allow you to log on from a streaming device such as Roku, for example, when you only have Internet service.
2. Casting from a computer to TV: Xfinity streaming requires Flash Player in a browser, which Chrome doesn't support.
Perhaps if you have Windows 10 (use Firefox, which allows FlashPlayer) you can cast directly from your computer to the TV.

I did try, and the Xfinity app on Roku requires logging in as an Xfinity user who has Streaming service.

Thanks. I believe I do have Streampix (I think that's what they call it), as well as limited basic (the lowest possible tier) TV. At the time it was cheaper than just internet service by itself.

I can "project to a wireless display" from my Win10 laptop to Roku TV (or stick+). It can be a little buggy but once it syncs up it usually works Ok. Will have to try that if it doesn't show up on the Roku Xfimity Stream Beta App.
