How does this compare to the new model? The 1.1 dual core scares me, I know it can turbo but still......

Buy the new base model over this. The 10th gen i3 is faster than 8th gen i5. Plus new one has Iris graphics. That said 128gb is criminal

I could not agree with you more. 128GB in March of 2020 is disgraceful!!! How much does a 256GB SSD cost today. $30 if even that. Amazing that Apple is charging $900-$1200 this price for a non-removable hard drive. Hard Pass!

Those specs are sad as hell. I upgraded my Macbook Pro 2011 to 16gb ram and a 256gb ssd. I get that you trade off upgradeability/performance for portability but my god, the only thing that has going for it is the screen.

Doesn't make sense to buy an used old model with less cpu power and storage for 20% cheaper.

I have it because of my school, not sure but I know there were some workarounds for getting one but lots of businesses have switched to using a service that verifies your enrollment.

Not sure what you mean. I asked and was told the newer model was better, i haven't really kept up with processors.

I was wondering if u picked up a better one for $909 cuz I don't fully understand the spec to determine which is better.

The horrible keyboard alone makes this not a good deal.
