What's new with you since Covid 19?

Just wondering what (besides the obvious) how everyone's been impacted. Work has all but halted for me, other than some online reselling that I do. Also, my stepdaughter will be moving in within a few weeks, since she's being laid off. It will actually give her a chance to make a career change and save for a house. We are planning a bigger garden, too.
So, what's new with you?

Also just had a robocall from my workplace confirming that we are considered a "critical infrastructure supplier" and will remain in operation for the foreseeable future. Kind of glad the paychecks will still be coming for now but a little uneasy about the potential exposure to so many others.
I tried placing a pick up order at one store Friday morning and there were no available pick up times in the three days the scroll bar showed so I opted for delivery and they gave me Sunday night between 9 and 10 as the earliest.
Last night (Sunday) I got a text that they were running late.. would b between 10 and 10:30.. then another text.. between 10:45 and 11:15. Then a text saying they wouldn't make it and I'd need to either go into my order and cancel it or select a new day and time. The first available was going to be Friday night.
Tried a diff store and again.. no available times or dates.
Third store showed a pick up option tomorrow (Tuesday) evening so .. I am aiming for that one.
I do have stuff here in the pantry but wanted more fresh foods and to stock up a bit more in case this drags on much longer than we suspect.
Haven't seen my dad in about a month as we (my sibs) were getting our mom moved up here from MO. Almost as soon as we got her up here things went into lock down... the stopped allowing visitors in her assisted living facility and now they don't even let them go to the dinning room for meals (been about a week for that rule).
Haven't seen sibs in a couple of weeks.
I take the gooberdoofies for walks ...but they yank my joints so much I'm leaning more toward "go roughhouse with each other in the yard"
I like reading the different ideas people do post on social media like.. the neighborhood scavenger hunt where you put a toy or object in your front window and kids can walk around at their leisure and note who has what and compare online.
I put a green teddy bear (a dog toy) up in a window above the front door and Bella barked for half an hour since "something was out of place"
* And I do plan to wipe down all items from the store before bringing them into the house...

They too have to take meals in their room now as the dining room is closed for the duration.
Also they are on lock down and we really shouldn't go inside to see them. I've had to drop stuff off at the front set of doors and a staff member takes the package from me.
Ironically my sister had planned on driving up this weekend to visit/work on the parent's house, and so forth...
My dad has been bitching for weeks that my sister hasn't seen them and won't come see them, but now that there was a plan...

WFH, grazing, not going out to walk.
But, like everything, it's a routine, I'll figure it out.
I have seen you mention this a few times, Who are/were you around here? I know you are not a N00b

"Coronaviruses, much like influenza, tend to be winter viruses. In cold and dry air, the thin layers of liquid that coat our lungs and airways become even thinner, and the beating hairs that rest in those layers struggle to evict viruses and other foreign particles. Dry air also seems to dampen some aspects of the immune response to those trapped viruses. In the heat and humidity of summer, both trends reverse, and respiratory viruses struggle to get a foothold.
Unfortunately, that might not matter for the COVID-19 pandemic. At the moment, the virus is tearing through a world of immunologically naive people, and that vulnerability is likely to swamp any seasonal variations. After all, the new virus is transmitting readily in countries like Singapore (which is in the tropics) and Australia (which is still in summer). And one recent modeling study concluded that "SARS-CoV-2 can proliferate at any time of year." "I don't have an immense amount of confidence that the weather is going to have the effect that people hope it will," Gralinski says. "It may knock things down a little, but there's so much person-to-person transmission going on that it may take more than that." Unless people can slow the spread of the virus by sticking to physical-distancing recommendations, the summer alone won't save us.
"The scary part is we don't even know how many people get normal coronaviruses every year," Frieman says. "We don't have any surveillance networks for coronaviruses like [we do for] flu. We don't know why they go away in the winter, or where they go. We don't know how these viruses mutate year on year." Until now, research has been slow. Ironically, a triennial conference in which the world's coronavirus experts would have met in a small Dutch village in May has been postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
"If we don't learn from this pandemic that we need to understand these viruses more, then we're very, very bad at this," Frieman says". Source: https://www.theatlantic
