I paid retail for this last year around the same time. It's decent software, but there are some severe issues with the import and export process that stopped me from using it regularly, as well as a lot of resource issues. I felt like I was testing beta software through the duration of 3, and I ran it on a pretty serious computer.

I edit photos on a daily basis and messed with it maybe three or four times. I do like the editing tools/functions, but there are big issues importing in bulk from Lightroom.

I can't say how 4 works because I haven't upgraded, but I don't think I will unless I hear something really phenomenal going on at some point.

Nik works better for my workflow, personally, and I'm still using the version before it was reacquired and started up again just fine.

What's the catch? Is this a very old version? Does it come with software that bugs you with ads all the time to pay to upgrade or buy something?

Ha! I did just that and they accepted it. Theyre more concerned about obvious picture editing like adding fake eye color, hair, etc.
