Reviewers said the i3 performs better than the i5 infrom last year model in benchmark test. Although I would pay $100 more to get the i5 for this years MBA

New i5 model costs $300 more than new i3 model, 512GB SSD included.

Base model + $100 = i5 + 256GB

Apple has a $100 education discount if you have access to a college email. Brings it to $900. You can also upgrade the i3 to i5 for $100 more instead of buying the pre spec i5

Older MacBooks (entire line, Air and Pro) were sold with faulty keyboards that used a butterfly mechanism.

The new MacBook Air and 16" MacBook Pro both have the new (actually old) scissor switch keyboard that existed in modes pre-2014.

Apple is expected to release a new MacBook Pro 13" (possibly 14") in the coming months with an updated keyboard and internals.

Tl;dr - buy the new MacBook Air, not the one you linked to.

This laptop is NOT designed to run an i5 quad-core. The i5 runs at 100c for simply doing basic tasks.

i3 good enough fro 90% of people, and if you need more power, you should just get a mbp
