I used a small electric plug-in for a while. It worked, but it was super annoying to drag the cord around. Small yards only. Otherwise, look at battery-powered. I'm still using a Honda noise-maker, which works great, but is loud and requires regular maintenance. I'm really ready for battery power.
I ordered the 18v One+ 13" which I'm pretty sure is the exact same mower except battery run instead of power plug. Still waiting on it to come in.
It's on sale down to $99 and comes with a battery and charger. I use a riding mower for my lawn, but end up using my string trimmer (also 18v Ryobi) to do along the fence and around objects to clear a big enough path where the riding mower doesn't get. I think this is going to be perfect to outline everything for the rider then only use the trimmer for what this misses.
I figure worst case scenario, I spent $99 for another charger and 4ah batter which isn't super slick but isn't a total loss. The 18v one currently sells for $199 at Home Depot right now, so half off for CPO seems like a pretty good deal.
I got one on Black Friday,it arrived broken, and frankly whoever put it in the box had to know it.There were also a few missing pieces.
I like to fix things, so I offered to fix it myself if they sent me the parts. It just seemed like a waste to ship it back, order again, ect. Ultimately, it took a while, back and forth with CS and a third party for the parts. I can't see any way it would be cost effective for them to pay an employee to tear it down and rebuild it the right way for $45. Also considering the large size, $7 shipping is a good deal.
I haven't been able to use it yet, but it seems like a really nice little mower. I bought it so we could use it in place of a weed wacker and under the edges of bushes, ect. Also, the battery it uses tied in with a bunch of other Ryobi deals at the time.
If you get one, watch out for the height adjustment. It's a neat mechanism, but a bit opposite of the way a regular mower works. That is the part that was broken on mine, I'm guessing because someone tried to force it.

I came to hate mine as well. Got a store-return battery mower for cheap.

No problem! I just posted the deal actually as I think a lot of people might be interested.
The 13in is small, probably not for huge yards, but the youtube reviews I've seen of it are pretty good. I am wondering about the battery not sure what "Certified Pre-Owned" means for battery. They have a 6ah battery for $45 I considered too, but I already have 3 of the 4ah batteries so I can just switch out when I need to.

On second thought, might be useful to use a couple times a year to pick up leaves.
Edit: Looks like $7 shipping applies.
