This isn't a deal. Drives in this range regularly go for under $200, a slick price would be $180 or lower.
For a device that doesn't support NVMe.
MX500 support TCG Opal , this doesn't.

of course if you don't know what TCG Opal is, then it doesn't apply to you, as it doesn't apply to most people.

Seems like a decent deal, but I don't know for sure. Anyone can shed a little light on the subject?

Was curious how this compares to the Crucial MX500 that often goes on sale for $200

Will this work as an internal drive for a PS4 pro?

It should work fine. There is a review on Newegg where someone did that

I bought 4x of these on sale last year. One died, the second suffers from really slow writes and all four show significant drive wear after not many miles. The su800 is suited for gaming consoles or a scratch drive and that's exactly where drives 3 and 4 are in now. I wouldn't trust it with important data. At the ~$200 I'd go with the mx500 tbh... With the failure rate of ~37.5% (su800) that I've experienced, it should speak for itself to save some grief.

Because people buying a 2TB drive arnt generally using it for the main OS drive(because 1TB is faster). So people are buying them for storage and you dont need crazy speeds for storage. On top of the issue of course with needing multiple nvme slots perhaps, depending on the motherboard.

Could be lots of reasons.
